TO CREATE A TRUE CITY FACILITY AFFORDING ACCESS TO ALL CITIZENS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RELEVANT,INSPIRED AND THOUGHTFUL WORKS OF THE SPIRIT - A COLLECTIVE AND BUSINESS COMMUNITY FOR THE USE OF THE PEOPLE AND GLORY OF THE CITY. THE COMMUNITY CULTURAL COLLECTIVE IS A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION THAT WAS FORMED EXPRESSLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAJOR RENOVATION TO PRESERVE THE HISTORICAL COLORADO SPRINGS CITY AUDITORIUM.

DURING THE YEAR,THE COLORADO SPRINGS COMMUNITY CULTURAL COLLECTIVE (CSCCC) ENGAGED AN ARCHITECTURAL AND DESIGN FIRM TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT UPDATED PROGRAMING ABILITY FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE AUDITORUIM BUILDING WHILE MAINTAINING THE HISTORICAL INTERGRITY OF THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE BUILT IN 1923. EXTENSIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH COMMUNITY ARTS,CIVIC AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS AND THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL WAS ALSO A LARGE PART OF THIS PROCESS. PARTNERING WITH THE CITY OF COLORADO SPRINGS AFFORDED A DETAILED DESIGN FOR THE BUILDING TO FUNCTION IN THE SAME VEIN OF ITS ORIGINAL MISSION IN A MORE RELEVANT MANNER.
THE INITIAL YEAR EFFORT SUCCESFULLY PLACED THE CSCCC PROJECT ON A STATE AND REGIONAL STAGE DURING THIS FIRST YEAR. CSCCC LEADERSHIP WORKED WITH THE COLORADO STATE LEGISLATURE AND LOCAL CITY GOVERNMENT GROUPS TO HIGHLIGHT THE PROJECT AS UNIQUE AND RELEVANT TO THE STATE AND REGION. PRESENTATIONS OF THE DESIGN AND ABILITY FOR ADDITIONAL NEW VENUES HEIGHTENED AWARENESS OF THE PROJECT FOR COMMUNITY AND REGIONAL ORGANIZATIONS. EXTENSIVE WORK WITH STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS PROVIDED A UNIQUE VENUE OPPORTUNITY FOR COLORADO AS WELL AS COLORADO SPRINGS.
CSCCC WORKED WITH THE PIKES PEAK WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT CENTER TO BUILD OUT FEDERAL WORKFORCE APPRENTICE PROGRAMS IN THE AREAS OF MEDIA ARTS, THEATER ARTS, HOSPITALITY AND CULINARY,AND EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. CSCCC ANTICIPATES LAUNCHING THREE OF THESE PROGRAMS BEGINNING IN 2023. THE MEDIA ARTS, THEATER ARTS AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS WILL BE THE FIRST REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS IN THE STATE. THESE ON-SITE PROGRAMS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE SUSTAINABILITY FOR THE PROJECT. EXTENSIVE RESEARCH WENT INTO FULLY UNDERSTANDING THE NEED IN THE REGION AND ACROSS THE STATE.
