BREAKTHROUGH ENERGY COMMUNICATES AND EDUCATES ON THE DANGERS OF CLIMATE CHANGE, THE NEED TO MITIGATE IT, AND WAYS AVAILABLE TO MITIGATE IT BY ENGAGING IN ACTIVE DISCUSSIONS, PARTICIPATING IN AND LEADING PUBLIC AND INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC EVENTS, AND BUILDING AWARENESS ACROSS GOVERNMENTS, COMMERCIAL SECTORS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
THE BREAKTHROUGH ENERGY FELLOWS PROGRAM WILL ANNUALLY SELECT A COHORT OF PARTICIPANTS, PROVIDE FUNDING AND EDUCATION FOR THEM TO PURSUE EARLY-STAGE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH THAT CAN MITIGATE CLIMATE CHANGES AND, IF THE RESEARCH SHOWS PROMISE, TEACH THEM HOW TO DEVELOP A BUSINESS FRAMEWORK AROUND THE RESEARCH.
