THE CRETE COLLECTIVE EXISTS TO SUPPORT NEW AND EXISTING CHURCHES IN NEGLECTED AND VULNERABLE BLACK AND BROWN NEIGHBORHOODS. WE ACHIEVE THIS MISSION BY PROVIDING FUNDING AND TRAINING TO LOCAL CHURCH LEADERS.

FINISHED YEAR 1 FUNDING FOR COHORT 1 AND BEGAN YEAR 2 FUNDING: WE SELECTED OUR FIRST COHORT OF FUNDED CHURCH PLANTS IN 2020. IN JUNE 2021 WE COMPLETED THEIR FIRST YEAR OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT. WE CONTRIBUTED $40,000 TO EACH OF THREE (3) CHURCH PLANTS LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, D.C.; PINE BLUFF, AR; AND WEST PALM BEACH, FL. IN JULY 2021, WE BEGAN YEAR 2 OF THEIR FUNDING. YEAR 2 PROVIDES ANOTHER $40,000 IN SUPPORT TO EACH OF THE CHURCH PLANTS. SELECTED COHORT 2: IN 2021, WE ALSO BEGAN YEAR 1 FUNDING FOR COHORT 2. WE WERE ABLE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CHURCH PLANTS WE FINANCIALLY SUPPORT FROM THREE (3) TO FOUR (4). WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO MAINTAIN THE YEARLY FINANCIAL COMMITMENT OF $40,000 TO EACH OF THE FOUR NEW CHURCH PLANTS. COHORT 2 CHURCH PLANTS ARE LOCATED IN DAYTONA BEACH, FL; HOUSTON, TX; YONKERS, NY; AND LEXINGTON, KY. THIS BRINGS OUR TOTAL NUMBER OF FUNDED CHURCH PLANTS TO SEVEN (7). CHURCH PLANTER TRAINING AND COACHING: IN 2021, WE CONTINUED A REGULAR RHYTHM OF TRAINING AND COACHING CALLS WITH OUR FUNDED CHURCH PLANTERS AND ASPIRING PLANTERS. WE HELD MONTHLY TRAINING CALLS WITH AN AVERAGE OF 15 CHURCH PLANTERS AND ASPIRING CHURCH PLANTERS. AMONG THESE, WE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL COACHING TO TEN (10). TRAINING AND COACHING COVER A RANGE OF MINISTRY AND LEADERSHIP ISSUES, INCLUDING PREACHING, EVANGELISM, PASTORAL CARE, CHURCH MANAGEMENT, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. WE ALSO HELD MONTHLY NETWORK CALLS WITH AN AVERAGE OF 25 PARTICIPANTS FROM MEMBER CHURCHES. NETWORK CALLS PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE IDEAS, EXPERIENCES AND RESOURCES AMONG MEMBER CHURCHES. CALL PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE PASTORS, DEACONS, MEMBERS IN LEADERSHIP TRAINING, AND OTHER MINISTRY LEADERS FROM CRETE COLLECTIVE CHURCHES.
