OUR PROGRAM PROVIDED THE COMMUNITY WITH ACCESS TO FREE PRODUCE AND EDUCATION ON GROWING AND PRESERVING FRESH PRODUCE AND IMPROVED HEALTH THROUGH A BETTER DIET. WE IMPLEMENTED STRATEGIES THAT WILL HELP OKLAHOMA STUDENTS MAKE HEALTHY EATING AND LIFESTYLE CHOICES, REDUCE RATES OF OBESITY, AND REDUCE OBESITY-RELATED CHRONIC DISEASES. OUR ORGANIZATION DEMONSTRATED THAT STUDENTS IN OUR PROGRAM EAT MORE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AT HOME AND SCHOOL, KNOW MORE ABOUT HEALTHY EATING, AND ARE MORE LIKELY TO PAY ATTENTION AND ENJOY THEIR SCHOOL SUBJECTS THAN THOSE TAUGHT BY TRADITIONAL CLASSROOM METHODS. IN ADDITION, OUR PROGRAM WILL FIND THAT LEARNING ABOUT HEALTH AND NUTRITION ARE ALSO VALUABLE IN TRANSFORMING THE QUALITY OF DAILY LIFE OF OUR STUDENTS, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE IN RURAL AND LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES.
