AS PART OF ITS CHARITABLE MISSION, THE FOUNDATION MAKES CONTRIBUTIONS TO CODE SECTION 501(C)(3) CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS DEDICATED TO CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL, OR MEDICAL PURPOSES DEFINED IN CODE SECTION 170(B). THIS YEAR, SUCH GRANTS WERE ISSUED TO THREE ORGANIZATIONS WHICH PROVIDE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES, INCLUDING SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE LOST PARENTS SUDDENLY.


DURING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, THE FOUNDATION USUALLLY "ADOPTS" A FAMILY IN NEED. THIS IS ORGANIZED THROUGH A 501(C)(3) CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION, AND THESE GRANTS TAKE THE FORM OF CHRISTMAS PRESENTS TO THE FAMILIES. THIS YEAR, DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE FOUNDATION DID NOT PERFORM THIS ACTIVITY.


THE FOUNDATION INTENDS TO ESTABLISH A SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ENGAGE IN GRANT MAKING TO INDIVIDUALS FOR POST-HIGH SCHOOL STUDY. THE POOL OF POTENTIAL RECIPIENTS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WILL INCLUDE ALL GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS FOR POST-HIGH SCHOOL STUDY, WHO HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED FOR ADMISSION AT AN ACCREDITED TWO-YEAR OR FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY OR TECHNICAL SCHOOL. THE FOUNDATION HAS NOT YET BEGUN PERFORMING THIS FUNCTION. AS SUCH, NO EXPENSES ARE REPORTED FOR IT THIS YEAR.
