THE MISSION OF ABILENE RESTORATION MINISTRIES ARM IS TO OPERATE A RESIDENTIAL MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE FACILITY.

ABILENE RESTORATION MINISTRIES ARM BEGAN PARTNERING IN 2021 WITH THE TEXAS PRISON SYSTEM TO INTAKE MEN BEING RELEASED BUT NEEDING TO ENTER A RESIDENTIAL RECOVERY PROGRAM. AS MEN ARE RELEASED, ARM PICKS THEM UP AT THE PRISON AND TRANSPORTS THEM TO ABILENE. MOST OF THE RESIDENTS ARRIVE WITHOUT ADEQUATE CLOTHING. ARM SUPPLIES HOUSING, FOOD, AND ALL CLOTHING NEEDS, INCLUDING WORK UNIFORMS AND WORK BOOTS. IN 2021, THERE WERE 62 MEN SENT FROM PRISON TO OUR TWELVE-MONTH PROGRAM. ARM ALSO FURNISHED HYGIENE SUPPLIES, HAIR CUTS, BEDDING, AND ANY PARTICULAR NEEDS TO GAIN EMPLOYMENT.
ABILENE RESTORATION MINISTRIES WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE A LARGE RESIDENCE IN ABILENE TO HOUSE UP TO 30 MEN. REMODELING ALLOWED FOR EXPANSION OF THE KITCHEN FACILITIES AND A SMALL OFFICE SPACE. THE PROPERTY INCLUDED A VACANT ADJOINING LOT FOR FUTURE PROJECTS AND A CONCRETE PARKING LOT FOR UP TO 12 VEHICLES.
A DONATION GRANT FROM QUALITY IMPLEMENT OF ABILENE FOR A COMMERCIAL 48 MOWER ALLOWED ABILENE RESTORATION MINISTRIES TO ADD A SECOND MOWING CREW TO ASSIST IN TEACHING LANDSCAPING TECHNIQUES. A MOWING CREW USUALLY CONSISTS OF FIVE MEN IN OUR PROGRAM. THIS EFFORT ALLOWED FOR US TO OBTAIN MORE COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPING CONTRACTS DURING 2021.
