TO CATALYZE TEACHING EXCELLENCE THROUGH RECOGNITION, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.

DUE TO COVID-19, GOLDEN APPLE FOUNDATION OF NEW MEXICO WAS UNABLE TO HOLD SEVERAL IN-PERSON EVENTS THAT ALSO SERVE AS FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES. OUR ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF TEACHING EXCELLENCE HAS BEEN DELAYED, OUR SUMMER CONFERENCE WAS CANCELLED, AND OUR MATH INSTITUTE WAS MOVED TO A VIRTUAL PLATFORM. ALL THESE EVENTS PROVIDE INCOME TO GOLDEN APPLE FOUNDATION OF NEW MEXICO. IN ADDITION, THE SHIFT REQUIRED US TO IMPROVE OUR ABILITY TO DELIVER WORKSHOPS IN A VIRTUAL SETTING AND UPGRADE OUR WEBSITE.


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO TEACHERS AT ALL LEVELS IN NEW MEXICO TO IMPROVE THEIR PRACTICE AND CONFER WITH THEIR PEERS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND SMALL SUBJECT AREA INSTITUTES.


FELLOWS PROGRAM: TO PROVIDE RECOGNITION AND AWARDS TO SELECTED TEACHERS IN NEW MEXICO. SELECTION IS MADE THROUGH A RIGOROUS AND COMPREHENSIVE PROCESS THAT INCLUDES TEAMS OF EVALUATORS MAKING SITE VISITS TO SCHOOLS AND CLASSROOMS. VARIOUS AWARDS, STIPENDS, AND ONGOING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, INCLUDING MEMBERSHIP AS GOLDEN APPLE FELLOW IN THE GOLDEN APPLE ACADEMY ARE OFFERED. AGAIN NO AWARDS WERE RECEIVED THIS YEAR SEE OUR COVID 19 STATEMENT LISTED IN 1ST EXEMPT PURPOSE STATEMENT.
