THE MISSION OF THE NEW MEXICO BREASTFEEDING TASK FORCE IS TO CREATE ENVIRONMENTS IN WHICH LACTATION IS THE NORM AND HUMAN MILK IS AVAILABLE TO ALL INFANTS AND CHILDREN.

THE TASK FORCE IS CREATING A BREASTFEEDING SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY AND IS COMMITTED TO INCREASING BREASTFEEDING INITIATION, DURATION AND EXCLUSIVITY. THROUGH THE STATE SPONSORED WIC PEER COUNSELING PROGRAM, FUNDING FROM THE W.K. KELLOGG FOUNDATION AND THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, WE ARE PROVIDING BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT, COUNSELING, EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO NEW MEXICO FAMILIES, HOSPITALS, CLINICS, EMPLOYERS, HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITIES.
