THE MISSION OF THE NEW MEXICO BREASTFEEDING TASK FORCE IS TO CREATE ENVIRONMENTS IN WHICH LACTATION IS THE NORM AND HUMAN MILK IS AVAILABLE TO ALL INFANTS AND CHILDREN.

THE PURPOSE OF THE TASK FORCE IS TO BRIDGE THE GAP IN BREASTFEEDING/CHESTFEEDING DISPARITIES BY ENSURING ALL FAMILIES HAVE THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO REACH THEIR BREASTFEEDING/CHESTFEEDING GOALS. THROUGH THE STATE SPONSORED WIC PEER COUNSELING PROGRAM, FUNDING FROM THE W.K. KELLOGG FOUNDATION AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS AND THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, WE ARE PROVIDING BREASTFEEDING/CHESTFEEDING SUPPORT, COUNSELING, EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO NEW MEXICO FAMILIES, HOSPITALS, CLINICS, EMPLOYERS, HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITIES.
