PSI IS A CO-EDUCATIONAL SCHOOL IN UKRAINE THAT SERVES ABOUT 500 STUDENTS, AGED 3 TO 18 YEARS AND WHOSE FAMILIES ORIGINATE FROM MORE THAN 45 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. THE MAJORITY OF THE SCHOOLS PARENTS ARE EXPATRIATES LIVING IN UKRAINE AND SERVING IN DIPLOMATIC, GOVERNMENT, AND BUSINESS ROLES IN THE COMMUNITY. NOTABLY, A NUMBER OF THE PARENTS ARE EMPLOYED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE AND WORK AT THE U.S. EMBASSY IN KYIV, UKRAINE. FOR THIS REASON, THE SCHOOL IS SUPPORTED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE OFFICE OF OVERSEAS SCHOOLS, AN ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION THAT HELPS PROVIDE QUALITY EDUCATION TO CHILDREN OF U.S. CITIZENS WORKING FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ABROAD.PSI PROVIDES A RENOWNED INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM TAUGHT IN AN ENGLISH-LANGUAGE ENVIRONMENT. IT IS THE ONLY SCHOOL IN UKRAINE CREDENTIALED TO TEACH THE INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) PROGRAMS A SET OF PROGRAMS THAT ARE DESIGNED FOR INTERNATIONAL FAMILIES AND ARE BASED ON WORLDWIDE BEST PRACTICES IN TEACHING AN AND LEARNING. STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL WITH THE PRESTIGIOUS IB DIPLOMA CAN APPLY TO UNIVERSITIES AROUND THE WORLD. PSI IS ALSOTHE ONLY SCHOOL IN UKRAINE THAT HOLDS DUAL ACCREDITATION FROM THE COUNCIL OF INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS (CIS) IN EUROPE AND THE NEW ENGLAND ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES (NEASC) IN THE U.S. THAT MEANS THAT THE SCHOOLS PHILOSOPHY, GOVERNANCE, CURRICULUM, RESOURCES, STAFFING, AND OPERATIONS MEET RIGOROUS STANDARDS SET BY THESE INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED AGENCIES. PSI IS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL OF INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (ECIS) AND THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPEAN SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION (CEESA). THESE AFFILIATES PROVIDE PSI STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL SPORTING, CULTURE, AND ACADEMIC EVENTS WITHIN THE EUROPEAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS NETWORK AND PROVIDE PSI STAFF WITH PROFESSIONAL TRAINING BY RECOGNIZED INTERNATIONAL TEACHING CONSULTANTS AND ORGANIZATIONS.
