TO PROMOTE PERSONAL WORTH, SELF-RESPONSIBILITY, AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS FOR DESERVING CHILDREN FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES BY PROVIDING A UNIQUE SET OF RESOURCES INCLUDING MENTORS, SCHOLARSHIPS, LONG-TERM SUPPORT, STUDENT ADVOCACY AND A GUARANTEED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY. SUCCESSES IN 2021-2022 INCLUDE: -TSIC BROWARD SERVED 217 MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE BROWARD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM, AND 127 COLLEGE FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES. -FOR TSIC BROWARD CLASS OF 2022 (57 STUDENTS) WITH APPROX. 405,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS FROM TSIC: -100% GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL (COMPARED TO 67% OF THEIR LOW-INCOME PEERS; FLDOE, 2019-2020. -98% HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED AND ENROLLED IN COLLEGE (COMPARED TO ONLY 53% OF THEIR LOW-INCOME PEERS; LOW-INCOME: IPEDS, 2013-2014). -SENIORS EARNED A CUMULATIVE 329 COLLEGE CREDITS, WHILE STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL -30% EARNED A FLORIDA BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP. -FOR ALL TSIC BROWARD STUDENTS IN 2021-2022: -STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN MORE THAN 3160 MENTOR SESSIONS (NEW RECORD), MENTORED BY 210 VOLUNTEERS. -100% PARTICIPATED IN AT LEAST FOUR COLLEGE AND CAREER SUCCESS COACHING SESSIONS. -STUDENTS MAINTAINED AN AVERAGE 3.16 NON-WEIGHTED GPA -94% ATTENDED ALL THEIR GRADE-LEVEL COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS WORKSHOPS. -89% AVERAGE COLLEGE RETENTION RATE AND 67% COMPLETION RATE (COMPARED TO THE STATE AVERAGE OF 27% FOR STUDENTS LIVING IN POVERTY; COMPLETE COLLEGE AMERICA).
