NONDOCS MISSION IS TO PRODUCE AND DISTRIBUTE QUALITY JOURNALISM WITH CONTEXT THAT ENABLES CIVIC INVOLVEMENT. NONDOCS VISION IS TO SUSTAIN REPORTING ON UNDER-COVERED CIVIC ISSUES WHILE INCREASING PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE AND ENCOURAGING PUBLIC DIALOGUE. NONDOCS CORE VALUES INCLUDE: ACCURACY, FAIRNESS, TRANSPARENCY, COMMUNITY, DIVERSITY AND THE HISTORICAL RECORD.

IN 2023, NONDOC JOURNALISTS PRODUCED IMPORTANT COVERAGE OF LOCAL, COUNTY, STATE AND TRIBAL GOVERNMENTS. AS ALWAYS, OUR TEAM COVERED THE ANNUAL AND SPECIAL SESSIONS OF THE OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE IN A COMPREHENSIVE MANNER, TRACKING DEVELOPMENTS IN THE PUBLIC EDUCATION SECTOR AND WITH STATE-TRIBAL RELATIONS. OUR TEAM COVERED LOCAL AND TRIBAL ELECTIONS DURING THE 2023 ELECTION CYCLES, HOSTING PUBLIC DEBATES AS PART OF OUR EDMOND CIVIC REPORTING PROJECT, WHICH OFFERS GRANULAR COVERAGE OF THE FIFTH-LARGEST CITY IN OKLAHOMA THAT LOST ITS TRADITIONAL CIVIC NEWSPAPER IN 2020. OUR JOURNALISTS REVEALED SIGNIFICANT CONCERNS ABOUT PROPOSED PUBLIC PROJECTS CARRYING MULTI-MILLION-DOLLAR PRICE TAGS.
