JANUARY THROUGH MARCH OF 2023, WE DID COSMETIC RENOVATIONS AND IN APRIL OF 2023, WE OPENED OUR RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM WITH OUR FIRST TWO RESIDENTS. WE BEGAN OUR PROGRAM COURSES WITH RESIDENTS FOCUSING ON LIFE SKILLS, SELF-CARE, HEALING EDUCATION, AND RECOVERY ENHANCEMENT. WE HIRED A PEER SUPPORT ADVOCATE TO WALK WITH THE WOMEN AS THEY CONTINUE TO WORK ON THEIR RECOVERY.OUR OUTREACH CASE MANAGER WORKED WITH AN ADDITIONAL 37 WOMEN IN 2023, BRINGING OUR OUTREACH CLIENT TOTAL TO 97 BY THE END OF 2023. SHE PROVIDED 34 HOURS OF TRAFFICKING AWARENESS EDUCATION IN THE COMMUNITY, SPECIFICALLY WHERE WOMEN WHO MAY BE VULNERABLE TO TRAFFICKING LIVE AND/OR SPEND TIME (HOMELESS SHELTERS, LOW INCOME APARTMENTS, ETC.).WE PAID FOR A HOTEL STAY FOR A WOMAN WHO NEEDED A SAFE PLACE AWAY FROM A TRAFFICKER WHILE WAITING TO BE CONNECTED WITH ADDITIONAL HELP/RESOURCES. OUR OUTREACH CASE MANAGER CONTINUED PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO WOMEN NEEDING ACCESS AND TRANSPORTATION TO TREATMENT FACILITIES, SAFE SHELTER AS NEEDED, AND BASIC HYGIENE NEEDS.
