TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF, AND ACCESS TO THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE; THAT IS, TO HELP PEOPLE LEARN TO THINK, FEEL, BREATHE, MOVE AND PERFORM BETTER IN EVERYTHING THEY DO. TO THIS END, IN SEPTEMBER 2020, THE ORGANIZATION OPENED A NEW CENTER IN NEW YORK CITY, WHERE IT PROVIDED SAFE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE. IT ENACTED EFFECTIVE HYGIENE PROTOCOL, AND REMAINED OPEN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WITHOUT A SINGLE CASE OF CONTACT SPREAD.

SEE SCHEDULE OTHE ORGANIZATION SERVED AS A SUSTAINABLE AND EXPANDING LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR THOSE SEEKING PERSONAL GROWTH, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING THROUGH THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE. THE ORGANIZATION SOUGHT TO DEVELOP, NURTURE, AND OFFER TEACHING OF THE HIGHEST STANDARDS, ACCORDING TO THE PRINCIPLES OF F.M. ALEXANDER. TO THIS END, IN SEPTEMBER 2020, THE ORGANIZATION OPENED A NEW CENTER IN NEW YORK CITY. IT PROVIDED SAFE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES TO INDIVIDUALS IN ONE-ON-ONE AND/OR GROUP SESSIONS IN THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE. IT REMAINED OPEN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THIS WAS ONE OF - PERHAPS THE ONLY - ALEXANDER CENTER IN THE WORLD TO DO SO DURING THIS FIRST YEAR OF THE PANDEMIC. AT THE CENTER, THE ORGANIZATION MENTORED, TRAINED, ORGANIZED, AND MAINTAINED A COMMUNITY OF EXPERTS REGARDING THE TEACHING OF THE PRINCIPLES OF F.M. ALEXANDER WITHIN THE STYLE, FRAMEWORK AND VISION OF THE INITIATIVE. BY REMAINING OPEN, IT KEPT MANY ALEXANDER TEACHERS IN NYC WORKING, THE GENERAL PUBLIC LEARNING (VIA IN-PERSON AND HYBRID OFFERINGS), AND RENTAL SPACE AVAILABLE FOR SAFE IN-PERSON EVENTS DURING THIS EXTRAORDINARY TIME. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES TO EXPERIENCE AND BENEFIT FROM THE TECHNIQUE.
