Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
THE ORGANIZATION (SFBS) EDUCATES AND TRAINS THE COMMUNITIES' YOUTH WITH SOUND FUNDAMENTALS AND ADVANCED SKILLS IN THE GAME OF BASEBALL. IT DEVELOPS AND INSPIRES LIFE SKILLS SUCH AS SPORTSMANSHIP, HONESTY, RESPONSIBILITY, CHARACTER, RESPECT AND GOOD WORK ETHIC. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED PRIMARILY THROUGH HIGH QUALITY BASEBALL CLINICS AND INSTRUCTION. EACH INDIVIDUAL AND/OR TEAM RECEIVES ACCESS TO SFBS'S EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES WITH THE OPTION OF TAKING PRIVATE LESSONS WITH THE SFBS COACHES. SFBS IS KNOWN TO INCREASE PLAYER EXPOSURE TO COLLEGE AND PROFESSIONAL SCOUTS DUE TO THEIR ATTENDENCE AT OUR EVENTS, IN ADDITION TO THOSE SCOUTS WHO ARE IN CONTACT WITH COACH BRUCE ON A REGULAR BASIS LOOKING FOR RECRUITING HIGH LEVEL TALENT. WHAT SETS THE SFBS APART FROM OTHER BASEBALL PROGRAMS IS THAT IT OPERATES AS A TRUE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION ENABLING SFBS TO MAKE BASEBALL DECISIONS BASED PURELY ON THE BEST AND MOST SOUND DECISIONS FOR OUR PLAYERS RATHER THAN ON BUSINESS AND FINANCES.
SFBS CREATED A TRAVEL BASEBALL PROGRAM CALLED SOUTH FLORIDA ANGLERS BASEBALL BASED ON THE BIBLE VERSE MATTHEW 4:19, "FOLLOW ME, AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN." SOUTH FLORIDA ANGLERS BASEBALL ALLOWS SERIOUS BASEBALL PLAYERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY ORGANIZED, COMPETITIVE BASEBALL ON A TEAM, TRAVEL TO SURROUNDING CITIES AND COMPETE WITH OTHER LARGE BASEBALL PROGRAMS. IT OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO LESS FORTUNATE FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN INTERESTED IN PLAYING BASEBALL WHO WOULD OTHERWISE NOT BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY ORGANIZED BASEBALL AT A HIGHLY COMPETITIVE LEVEL. SFBS IS CONFIDENT THAT THEIR INVESTMENTS IN YOUNG MEN HAVE HAD A GREAT RETURN.
