HOW THE PTO SUPPORTS TALLEY STREET UPPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DESCRIPTION: THE TALLEY STREET UPPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO IS DEDICATED TO HOLDING A NUMBER OF FUNDRAISERS IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATION AND STUDENTS OF TALLEY UPPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THE PTO INTENDS TO RAISE FUNDS THROUGH A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: SALES OF SPIRIT WEAR, ONLINE, MAIL AND IN-PERSON SOLICITATIONS FOR DONATIONS, COMMUNITY DISCOUNT CARD SALES, FUN RUNS, READ-A-THONS, CEREAL BOX TOPS, SEED MONEY FROM OTHER PTOS/PTAS WITHIN THE DISTRICT, AND DINE OUTS. THE PROCEEDS FROM THESE FUNDRAISERS WILL HELP FUND THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES, INITIATIVES AND ITEMS: COVERING THE COSTS OF YEARBOOKS, SPIRIT WEAR FOR TEACHERS AND STAFF (AND ALSO STUDENTS, BUDGET PERMITTING), FAMILY ENGAGEMENT NIGHT, INTERNATIONAL NIGHT, MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION, FALL SOCIAL CELEBRATION, THE 3RD GRADE PICNIC, SMALL APPLIANCES FOR THE TEACHERS' LOUNGE, TEACHER AND TUTOR APPRECIATION, 5TH GRADE TRIP TO TYBEE ISLAND, TEACHER REIMBURSEMENTS, PRINCIPAL'S DISCRETIONARY FUND, COMMUNITY DAY, AND VARIOUS AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS. ALL ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE TALLEY STREET PTO ARE CONDUCTED IN AND AROUND THE TALLEY STREET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, THE LOCAL DECATUR COMMUNITY OR WITHIN THE STATE OF GEORGIA.
