TO SERVE AS THE VOICE OF THE BUILDING INDUSTRY IN SOUTHWEST COLORADO THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, MEMBERSHIP, AND COMMUNITY.

HBASC BUILDS RELATIONSHIPS WITH FELLOW MEMBERS AT MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS, SPECIAL EVENTS, COMMITTEE MEETINGS, AND EDUCATION SESSIONS. MEMBERS SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE SHARED INTERESTS IN THE INDUSTRY THROUGH OUR SPECIAL INTEREST COUNCILS.
THE HBASC KEEPS MEMBERS INFORMED ON ISSUES IN THE CITY OF DURANGO AND LA PLATA COUNTY WHILE WORKING WITH THEIR AGENCIES ON LOCAL INDUSTRY REGULATION. IN ADDITION, THE HBASC PROVIDES VARIED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO MEET EACH OF ITS BUSINESS MEMBERS' NEEDS. NATIONAL AND STATE ASSOCIATION DUES GO TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES.
THE HBASC ACTIVELY SUPPORTS AND GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH ITS COMMUNITY INVESTMENT PARTNERS THROUGH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, SCHOLARSHIPS, WORKSHOPS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. THE HBASC TRADES N TRAINING PROGRAM PROVIDES STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATION IN A VARIETY OF CONSTRUCTION-RELATED TRADES INCLUDING CARPENTRY, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, BUILDING CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY, AND OTHERS. FUNDING FOR THESE ACTIVITIES IS PROVIDED THROUGH MEMBER SUPPORT OF ITS SPECIAL EVENTS.
