UNCC DBA: COLORADO 811 OPERATES A STATE-WIDE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM, WHICH THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS CAN REACH THROUGH A CENTRAL OFFICE BY CALLING "811" TO OBTAIN THE LOCATION OF UNDERGROUND FACILITIES BEFORE EXCAVATING, THEREBY PROTECTING THE BURIED FACILITIES AND THE PUBLIC. MEMBERS ARE PUBLIC UTILITY COMPANIES, CITY, COUNTY, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ENTITIES THAT PROVIDE UTILITIES IN A SPECIFIC AREA, AND SOME EXCAVATING CONTRACTORS LOCATED WITHIN THE STATE OF COLORADO. ADDITIONALLY, UNCC PROVIDES STATEWIDE PUBLIC AWARENESS, DAMAGE PREVENTION PROGRAMS AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES.
