IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, ROCKY MOUNTAIN PLANNED PARENTHOOD SERVED OVER 75,595 CLIENTS AT OUR 24 HEALTH CENTERS THROUGHOUT OUR THREE-STATE REGION - COLORADO, NEVADA, AND NEW MEXICO. THE MAJORITY OF OUR CLIENTS SEEK FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES SUCH AS CONTRACEPTIVES, PREGNANCY TESTING, GYNECOLOGICAL OR MID-LIFE CARE, AND LAB TESTS FOR PRE-CANCER SCREENING, HIV AND OTHER SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES. EIGHTEEN PERCENT OF OUR PATIENTS RECEIVED ABORTION SERVICES IN FY 2021. AS AN ESSENTIAL HEALTH CARE PROVIDER, PPRM HEALTH CENTERS REMAINED OPEN TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, AND EXPANDED ACCESS TO CARE THROUGH PLATFORMS SUCH AS TELEHEALTH. AS PPRM'S PATIENT BASE WAS IMPACTED BY COVID-19, WE SAW AN INCREASE TO THIRTY-ONE PERCENT OF OUR PATIENTS FALLING AT OR BELOW 100 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL. AT THIS LEVEL, INDIVIDUALS EARN AN AVERAGE INCOME OF LESS THAN $12,880 PER YEAR. SEVENTY-THREE PERCENT OF PPRM'S PATIENTS ARE EITHER SELF PAY OR MEDICAID. PPRM STRIVES TO SET FEES AT AFFORDABLE LEVELS: IN ADDITION, DISCOUNT AND CHARITABLE CARE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO MEET THE FINANCIAL NEEDS OF THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO PAY FOR MEDICAL SERVICES.
THE RESPONSIBLE SEX EDUCATION INSTITUTE COLLABORATES WITH AGENCIES THROUGHOUT COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, WYOMING, AND NEVADA TO BRING YOUNG PEOPLE COMPREHENSIVE SEX EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR ADULTS. PLANNED PARENTHOOD'S TEAM OF TRAINED EDUCATORS REACH PEOPLE WHO HAVE URGENT LIFE QUESTIONS AND WANT A SAFE, CONFIDENTIAL, UNBIASED SOURCE TO TURN TO FOR ACCURATE INFORMATION.IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, ROCKY MOUNTAIN PLANNED PARENTHOOD'S RESPONSIBLE SEX EDUCATION INSTITUTE PROVIDED 22,922 PEOPLE WITH MEDICALLY ACCURATE AND CULTURALLY RELEVANT COMPREHENSIVE SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATION. WE PROVIDE EDUCATION TO ALL AGES, VARYING ABILITIES, AND EXPANDED OUR TRAININGS FOR YOUTH SERVING PROFESSIONALS AND SUPPORT OF PARENTS THROUGH A NEW TEXTLINE AND FACEBOOK PAGE.
