EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS: OPENMIND CREATES EVIDENCE-BASED EDUCATIONAL TOOLS AND TEACHING STRATEGIES TO PROMOTE DIALOGUE AND UNDERSTANDING IN EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS. WE DISSEMINATE THESE TOOLS TO COLLEGES AND HIGH SCHOOLS TO EQUIP STUDENTS WITH THE SKILLS FOR CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE. IN 2021, OPENMIND EXPANDED ITS ALL-TIME REACH TO NEARLY 40,000 COLLEGE STUDENTS, OVER 5,000 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, AND OVER 2,000 EDUCATORS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND HIGHER EDUCATION.
RESEARCH AND THOUGHT LEADERSHIP: AS A RESEARCH-FOCUSED ORGANIZATION, OPENMIND IS COMMITTED TO CONDUCTING RIGOROUS ACADEMIC RESEARCH ON AN ONGOING BASIS TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF OUR PRODUCTS. IN 2021, OPENMIND LAUNCHED TWO RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIALS (RCTS) TO MEASURE THE EFFICACY OF THE PROGRAM. ONE RCT HAS SINCE CONCLUDED, AND ITS RESULTS CONFIRMED THAT OPENMIND LEADS TO STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS IN INTELLECTUAL HUMILITY, AFFECTIVE POLARIZATION, AND DICHOTOMOUS THINKING. THE SECOND RCT IS STILL ONGOING. OPENMIND ALSO CONDUCTED A RESEARCH PROJECT TO EXPLORE WHETHER IT'S POSSIBLE TO INCREASE INTELLECTUAL HUMILITY IN AN ONLINE ENVIRONMENT, AND WHETHER THIS WOULD IMPACT MISINFORMATION SHARING BEHAVIORS.THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CONDUCTS AND DISSEMINATES RESEARCH TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE FIELD OF BRIDGE-BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE. IN 2021, OPENMIND ADVANCED THIS GOAL BY FORMING 8 NEW PARTNERSHIPS WITH RESEARCH AND PRACTICE INSTITUTIONS AND PRESENTING RESEARCH AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR THE SOCIETY OF PERSONALITY AND SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR WORKPLACES: OPENMIND ALSO CREATES AND DISSEMINATES EDUCATIONAL TOOLS FOR COMPANIES AND ORGANIZATIONS TO FOSTER CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE AND HELP WORKPLACES BUILD CULTURES OF INCLUSION AND BELONGING. IN 2021, OPENMIND'S ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM WAS USED BY ALMOST 1,000 ADULTS IN 35 PROFESSIONAL COHORTS. TO SUPPORT GLOBAL COMPANIES, WE ALSO CREATED A NEW VERSION OF THE PROGRAM THAT CAN BE USED INTERNATIONALLY. TO COMPLEMENT THE SKILLS TAUGHT IN ITS ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM, OPENMIND ALSO DELIVERED 9 LIVE TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS TO PROFESSIONAL COHORTS.
