OUR MISSION IS TO INSPIRE HOPE AND KINDNESS IN OUR COMMUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION, MUSIC, AND MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

TO PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND PROVIDE BRIDGE, OR SHORT TERM COUNSELING, DESIGNED TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE COPING WITH ACUTE MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS AND TRAUMA RESPONSES. FOLLOWING AN ASSESSMENT, INITIAL AUTHORIZATIONS ARE TYPICALLY TWENTY SESSIONS. DURING THESE SESSIONS, INDIVIDUALS WORK WITH WELL-TRAINED COUNSELORS EQUIPPED WITH EXPERIENCES WORKING WITH THE MOST CHALLENGING PROBLEMS. THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF THERAPY, AVF FUNDED COUNSELORS WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH INDIVIDUALS TO DEVELOP A TREATMENT PLAN FOR CONTINUING RECOVERY AFTER THEIR SESSIONS HAVE LAPSED. THE POPULATIONS SERVED IN OUR PROGRAMS ARE DIVERSE IN RACE, AGE, AND GENDER. THEY ARE MORE OFTEN FROM VULNERABLE GROUPS INCLUDING MIGRANTS, REFUGEES, LGBTQ YOUTH, VICTIMS OF CRIME AND THOSE WITH TRAUMA RELATED SYMPTOMS.


THE FOUNDATION'S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS TO SUPPORT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES FROM THE FIVE MAIN HIGH SCHOOLS IN NAPA VALLEY WHO WORK DILIGENTLY TO BE THE POSITIVE CHANGE IN OUR WORLD.
