HAMILTON FLOURISHING HAD A CHALLENGING YEAR IN TERMS OF PROGRAMMING IN 2020. THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC HIT US IN MARCH AND ALL OF OUR PUBLIC ACTIVITIES WERE PUT ON HOLD. THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCED 20-25 VIDEOS ON SUBJECTS SUCH AS LITERACY, THE LOCAL FOOD DESERT, INTERVIEWS WITH THE SHERIFF, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, STATE LEGISLATORS AND OTHERS. THESE WERE WELL RECEIVED AND VIEWED BY AS MANY AS 20,000 INDIVIDUALS. THE ORGANIZATION, INSTEAD, FOCUSED ON WHAT WE COULD DO THROUGH ZOOM AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS. WE CONTINUED NETWORK ACTIVITIES WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS, MOSTLY BY ZOOM AND PHONE. WE CREATED TWO NEWSLETTERS THAT WENT OUT WEEKLY TO ABOUT 50,000 PEOPLE AND CONTINUED, THOUGH WITH LESS INVESTMENT, TO PUSH OUR SOCIAL MEDIA TILL IT REACHED OVER 12,000 PEOPLE. WE ALSO PARTICIPATED AT NUMEROUS PUBLIC EVENTS THAT WERE DISCUSSING POLICY IN THE COUNTY AS IT RELATED TO THE POOR, POLICING, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, LITERACY AND PUBLIC EDUCATION. WE ALSO ADVERTISED DAILY OUR EMAILS THROUGH AN ONLINE NEWSPAPER THAT BROUGHT IN MORE PEOPLE. HAMILTON FLOURISHING FEELS THE ORGANIZATION IS RAISING AWARENESS, EDUCATION AND ENGAGING MORE AND MORE PEOPLE IN HAMILTON COUNTY. THE ORGANIZATION CAN DEDUCE THIS BY RESPONSES TO THE DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION, INCREASED DONATIONS AND NEW EMAILS.
