LOVE RESTORATION IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES EDUCATION, NUTRITION, AND HEALTHCARE TO LESS PRIVILEGED CHILDREN IN SOUTH WESTERN UGANDA. IT WAS FOUNDED BY A FORMER COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL CHILD. THEY MANAGE AND SUPPORT A PRIVATE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. MERCY RAINS PROVIDES SUPPORT TO LOVE RESTORATION ON THE US SIDE.DUE TO COVID, OUR PRIMARY FOCUS FOR 2021 WAS TO PROVIDE COVID RELIEF SUPPORT TO OUR STUDENTS, THEIR FAMILIES AND AT-RISK COMMUNITY MEMBERS. FAMILIES WERE PROVIDED WITH FOOD, COOKING NEEDS, AND TOILETRIES. MERCY RAINS SENT OVER $39,000 FOR FOOD RELIEF. WE WERE ABLE TO KEEP 15 FULL-TIME STAFF MEMBERS ON PAYROLL, EVEN DURING THE LOCKDOWN. THE TEACHERS WERE ABLE TO ENCOURAGE, VISIT, AND TEACH CHILDREN AT THEIR RESPECTIVE HOMES. DURING THE COVID LOCKDOWN OUR FACILITIES WERE MAINTAINED AND INCLUDED PAINTING AND UPGRADES ON THE BATHROOMS. CHILDREN'S MEDICAL NEEDS WERE MET DURING THE SCHOOL CLOSURE. SCHOOLS IN UGANDA WERE CLOSED FOR 2 YEARS.
