COLLIDER FOUNDATION BELIEVES THAT THERE SHOULD BE ZERO BARRIERS TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN ROCHESTER. COLLIDER FOUNDATION SUPPORTS ENTREPRENEURS WITH NAVIGATION, EDUCATION, EVENTS, AND STORYTELLING TO HELP FOSTER AN INCLUSIVE, DIVERSE, AND EQUITABLE ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM.

COLLIDER FOUNDATION PROVIDED LOW-COST OFFICE SPACE TO NEW AND GROWING BUSINESSES IN THE ROCHESTER AREA THROUGH ITS COLLIDER COWORKING SPACE. THIS SPACE WORKS TO ACTIVATE, CONNECT, AND EMPOWER NEW AND EMERGING ENTREPRENEURS AND BUSINESSES BY CONNECTING THEM TO RESOURCE PROVIDERS AND MENTORS WHO ARE OFTEN CO-LOCATED IN THE SAME SPACE. A PHYSICAL LOCATION TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IS OFTEN A SIGNIFICANT BARRIER FACED BY EMERGING SMALL BUSINESSES. THE GOAL OF THE COWORKING SPACE IS TO FOSTER THE GROWTH OF NEW COMPANIES IN THE ROCHESTER AREA THAT WILL GET THEIR START IN COLLIDER COWORKING AND THEN MOVE ON TO THEIR OWN BRICK-AND-MORTAR LOCATION IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS.


COLLIDER BELIEVES THAT A KEY TO A STRONG ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM IS EDUCATIONAL EVENTS THAT CONTINUOUSLY BRING US TOGETHER TO COLLIDE AND SPARK NEW IDEAS AND CONNECTIONS. THIS YEAR, WE IMPLEMENTED THE NATIONAL PROGRAM CO.STARTERS TO HELP ENTRENUERIALLY MIDED STARTERS THINK THROUGH THEIR BUSINESS IDEA, GET CONNECTED TO THE COMUNITY AND UNDERSTAND NEXT STEPS TO TAKE WITH THEIR BUSINESS. IN 2022, 12 ENTREPRENEURS ENROLLED IN THIS PROGRAM. 50% IDENTIFIED AS WOMEN AND 50% AS MINORITY ENTREPRENEURS. THIS PROGRAM WAS RATED 5/5 BY ENTREPRENUERS COMPLETING THE SERIES.


COLLIDER FOUNDATIONS ECOSYSTEM NAVIGATION SERVICES ARE A CONFIDENTIAL, FREE RESOURCE IN THE COMMUNITY TO LISTEN TO THE NEEDS OF ENTREPRENEURS IN THE ROCHESTER ECOSYSTEM AND CONNECT THEM TO THE RIGHT RESOURCES THEY NEED AT THE RIGHT TIME TO ACCELERATE THEIR BUSINESS. LAST YEAR, COLLIDER SERVED 210 ENTREPRENEURS THROUGH THIS WORK. 79% OF ENTREPRENEURS HAD A BARRIER REMOVED AS A RESULT OF THIS SERVICE. 50% OF THESE ENTREPRENEURS IDENTIFIED AS WOMEN AND 44% AS BIPOC.


COLLIDER FOUNDATION BELIEVES IN THE POWER OF STORYTELLING TO PROVIDE INSPIRATION CAPITAL AND AMPLIFY THE JOURNEYS OF BUSINESS OWNERS WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY. WE SHARE STORIES OF LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS THROUGH ARTICLE AND VIDEO CONTENT AS WELL AS THROUGH OUR LONGSTANDING PODCAST ROCHESTER RISING. IN 2022, WE SHARED THE STORIES OF 45 DIFFERENT ENTREPRENEURS THROUGH THESE EFFORTS. 77% OF THESE INDIVUALS IDENTIFIED AS WOMEN, BIPOC, OR LGBTQ+. 75% OF ENTREPRENEURS WHO RESPONDED TO A SURVEY OBSERVED A POSITIVE IMPACT TO THEIR BUSINESS AS A RESULT OF THESE STORYTELLING EFFORTS.
