IN 2023, MORE THAN 80 DEPUTIES UNDERWENT TRAINING ON ADOPTING A VICTIM-CENTERED APPROACH AND CONDUCTING INTERVIEWS WITH VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS AND PUBLIC SCHOOL PRINCIPALS ACROSS THREE COUNTIES IN THE PEE DEE REGION RECEIVED INSTRUCTION ON SETORTION AND RECOGNIZING THE SIGNS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITIES. WE REACHED OUT TO OVER 10,000 STUDENTS IN BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, AND PARENTS ACROSS THE PEE DEE THROUGH VARIOUS EVENTS. OUR ONLINE SAFETY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING CURRICULUM WILL BE IMPLEMENTED IN FLORENCE, DARLINGTON, AND CHESTERFIELD SCHOOLS DURING 2024-2025. FURTHERMORE, WE PROVIDED EDUCATION ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING TO SOUTH CAROLINA'S FIRST RESPONDERS, HOSPITAL STAFF, UNIVERSITIES, HOSPITALITY SECTOR, AND PARENTS, EMPOWERING THEM TO IDENTIFY AND COMBAT TRAFFICKING IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. OUR EFFORTS EXTENDED GLOBALLY AS WE VISITED THE SLUMS OF MUMBAI, INDIA WHERE WE EDUCATED OVER 200 CHILDREN ON SAFEGUARDING THEMSELVES FROM ONLINE PREDATORS. IT WAS DISHEARTENING TO DISCOVER THE CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING AND PROSITUTION HAD BECOME NORMALIZED IN THIS AREA. THROUGH OUR ENDEAVORS, WE REMAIN COMMITTED TO CHALLENGING THIS NOTION AND ENSURING THAT SUCH EXPLOITATION NEVER BECOMES ACCEPTED AS THE NORM IN ANY COMMUNITY. REGARDING FINANCIAL MATTERS, AS PER FORM 990-EZ, PART V, THERE WERE NO FUNDS RECEIVED OR PAID, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FOR PERSONAL BENEFIT CONTRACTS DURING THE YEAR.
