LEAD PROVIDED SEMI-CUSTOMIZED PROGRAMS TO OVER 1,887 STUDENTS BASED ON NEEDS ASSESSMENTS OF THIRTEEN PARTNER SCHOOLS, EMPHASIZING UNDERSERVED AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS ACROSS FOUR COUNTIES, INCLUDING HAMILTON, WARREN, BUTLER, AND CLERMONT. ACCORDING TO A 2017 REPORT FROM THE CENTER OF AMERICAN PROGRESS, EARLY CAREER PREPARATION MUST BE HOLISTIC - MEANING IT MUST SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS, TECHNICAL SKILLS, AND 21ST-CENTURY SKILLS - TO SET STUDENTS UP COMPETITIVELY FOR FUTURE GOOD JOBS.LEAD TRAINING'S HIGH SCHOOL WORKFORCE INITIATIVE (HSWI) FOCUSES ON CULTIVATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF PROFESSIONALS, SPECIFICALLY LOW-TO-MODERATE INCOME STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-12, THROUGH CAREER EXPLORATION, EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING, CAREER COACHING, EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS TRAINING, AND BARRIER-BREAKING FOR STUDENTS NOT ATTENDING A TRADITIONAL FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE. IT ALSO CONNECTS STUDENTS TO LOCAL COMPANIES THROUGH TOURS AND PRESENTATIONS. CAREER QUEST, A PROGRAM UNDER THE HSWFI, PROVIDES STUDENTS IN 12TH GRADE WHO ARE NOT COLLEGE-BOUND OR UNCLEAR ABOUT WHAT'S NEXT AFTER GRADUATION WITH 1:1 CAREER COACHING, 21ST-CENTURY EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS TRAINING (I.E., COMMUNICATION, FINANCIAL LITERACY, CRITICAL THINKING, COLLABORATION, ETC.), CERTIFICATIONS FROM RECOGNIZED INSTITUTIONS, JOB/PRE-APPRENTICESHIP/INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT, AND CONTINUED POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION ASSISTANCE. THE HSWFI ALSO PARTICULARLY EMPHASIZES MANUFACTURING AND MEDICAL CAREER PATHWAY PROGRAMS WITH THE ADVANCED MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIP (AMIP) AND LOCAL HOSPITALS SUCH AS ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER. THE FUTURE LEADERS PROGRAM OFFERS A COMPREHENSIVE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING CURRICULUM AND LESSONS TAILORED FOR ELEMENTARY (K-5) AND HIGH SCHOOL (9-12) STUDENTS. SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS, OFTEN REFERRED TO AS PEOPLE SKILLS OR 21ST-CENTURY SKILLS, ARE INTEGRAL FOR PERSONAL, PROFESSIONAL, AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS.
