KAUFFMAN FOUNDATION: IN SUPPORT OF THE FOUNDATION'S "INCLUSION OPEN" PROGRAM, WE ARE CONDUCTING A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS IN WHICH WE LEVERAGE OUR RESEARCH METHODOLOGY TO EDUCATE STARTUP FOUNDERS ON THE VALUE OF DIVERSITY & INCLUSION FOR GROWING STARTUPS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF CONSIDERING D&I FROM THE START, RATHER THAN TRYING TO "FIX IT LATER." WE ARE COLLECTING DATA TO MEASURE IMPACT. IN 2021, WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND OUR ACTIVITIES IN THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP ARENA BY DEVELOPING A CUSTOM COURSE FOR ENTREPRENUERS TO EXPLAIN AND DEMONSTRATE THE VALUE OF DEI FOR STARTUPS.
WE CO-ORGANIZED THE FOURTH ANNUAL DIVERSITY & INCLUSION RESEARCH CONFERENCE (DIRC21) IN COLLABORATION WITH NEW YORK UNIVERSITY. THIS CONFERENCE, WHICH WAS HELD AS A VIRTUAL EVENT ON NOV 17-19, 2021 DREW A TOTAL OF ABOUT 500 ATTENDEES AND FEATURED A ROSTER OF NEARLY 50 SPEAKERS, PANELISTS AND FACILITATORS. DIRC BRINGS TOGETHER RESEARCHERS, CORPORATE D&I PROFESSIONALS, AND D&I PRACTITIONERS TO SHOWCASE A RANGE OF PROJECTS AND IDEAS THAT LEVERAGE D&I RESEARCH TO MAKE SOCIETY MORE INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE.
IN 2021 WE SECURED A CONTRACT TO EXPLORE DEVELOPMENT OF A SIMULATION SHOWING THE IMPACT OF INDIVIDUAL BEHAVIORS ON WORPLACE DEI.
IN 2021 WE DEVELOPED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR MEMBERS OF THE LINCOLN CENTER ON CREATING AND SUSTAINING DEI FO THEIR STAFF AND COMMUNITY AND PROVIDED TWO DIFFERENT TALKS EDUCATING THE AUDIENCE ON THE VALUE OF DEI AND DEI RESEARCH.
