INNOVATION AND ACCESS TO MEDICINES - KEI ADVOCATES NEW AND INVENTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE FINANCING MECHANISMS FOR BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT THAT PROMOTE BOTH NEEDS-DRIVEN INNOVATION AND ALSO ENSURE ACCESS TO MEDICAL PRODUCTS. KEI ALSO PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO GOVERNMENTS, INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, AND OTHER FACTORS ON OVERCOMING BARRIERS TO ACCESS AND CRAFTING EFFECTIVE POLICIES.
ACCESS TO KNOWLEDGE - KEI SEEKS TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS POLICY COHERENCE BETWEEN COPYRIGHT LAW AND OTHER REGULATIONS THAT AFFECT KNOWLEDGE AND THE BROADER FRAMEWORK OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND THE PUBLIC INTEREST.
