BEACH CLEANUPS WERE HELD BOTH AT THE LAGOON PROPERTY IN THE 30 ACRES OF CONSERVATION HABITAT BUT ALSO UP AND DOWN THE KEYS FROM ISLAMORADA TO BIG PINE. BEACH CLEAN UPS TRADITIONALLY REQUIRED 1-3 DAYS OF ORGANIZING AND A HALF DAY TO FULL DAY EVENT WITH UP TO SEVERAL HUNDRED COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS. IN 2021 I WOULD SAY WE HOSTED AT LEAST 4 OF THESE.
EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE PROGRAMS FOR THE ARTS. EARTH DAY, CONCERTS IN THE GARDEN, GRASSY KEY MURAL FESTIVAL WERE OUR THREE BIGGEST ATTRACTIONS AND GARDEN CONCERTS HAPPENED WEEKLY AT SOME POINTS AS A PLACE FOR LOCAL ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS TO COME AND SELL THEIR GOODS OR ENTERTAINMENT.
MAINTAIN NATIVE HABITATS, TRAIL MAINTENANCE, IRRIGATION MANGEMENT, AND DUTIES RELATED TO THE OPERATIONS OF A BOTANICAL GARDEN. THE GARDEN IS INTERMINGLED WITH MANY MURAL SITES AND CREATES AND INTERACTIVE SPACE BETWEEN FOR FREE ATTRACTIONS RELATED TO THE ARTS AND ENVIRONMENT AND LOCAL BUSINESSES / CRAFTSMEN
