Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
AS THE FORERUNNER IN THE WOMEN VETERAN'S COMMUNITY AND EXPERTS IN THE FIELD, WOMEN VETERANS INTERACTIVE (WVI) DESIGNED THE NATIONAL WOMEN VETERANS LEADERSHIP AND DIVERSITY CONFERENCE TO ADDRESS THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF WOMEN VETERANS WHILE BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN WOMEN VETERANS AND AMERICA, WHO HAS HISTORICALLY RELATED THE WORD VETERAN WITH MEN. WITHOUT A DOUBT, YOU ARE POSITIONED TO SUPPORT THE FASTEST GROWING WOMEN VETERANS CONFERENCE IN THE NATION. THE NATIONAL WOMEN VETERANS LEADERSHIP AND DIVERSITY CONFERENCE IS THE ONLY CONFERENCE DESIGNED TO CONNECT, ENGAGE, AND EMPOWER THE BRAVE, DIVERSE AND COMPETENT WOMEN WHO REMAIN POSTURED TO MAKE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT IN THEIR HOMES, COMMUNITIES AND FOR THIS COUNTRY.
THE WOMEN VETERANS TRANSITION SPACE (WVTS) IS A WVI PROGRAM THAT HAS PROVEN TO BE A USEFUL TOOL THAT HELPS WOMEN VETERANS' TRANSITION TO POST-MILITARY SUCCESS. ALTHOUGH WOMEN VETERANS HAVE EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS, ARE SEASONED TEAM PLAYERS AND HAVE A WEALTH OF PROVEN TECHNICAL, SOCIAL AND PERSONAL BALANCE SKILLS, THEY STILL FACE DIFFICULTIES WHEN TRANSITIONING OUT OF THE MILITARY. THE WOMEN VETERANS TRANSITION SPACE (WVTS) PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO CONNECT WOMEN VETERANS TO A NETWORK OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES DRIVEN BY INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS. THESE EVENTS ARE EXCELLENT NETWORKING ENCOUNTERS AND FOSTER AN ATMOSPHERE THAT ALLOWS INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES TO INTERACT WITH WOMEN VETERANS AND LEARN FIRSTHAND ABOUT SOME OF THE EMPLOYMENT STRUGGLES WOMEN VETERANS FACE THAT THEY TOO MAYBE AN ACTIVE PART OF THE SOLUTION.
THE PINK AND WHITE EMPOWERMENT BREAKFAST TOUR IS AN INTERACTIVE OUTREACH EVENT DESIGNED TO GO INTO THE COMMUNITIES WHERE WOMEN VETERANS LIVE TO MEET THEM AT THEIR POINTS OF NEED. THESE HIGH TOUCH EVENTS INSPIRE, EMPOWER, AND ENCOURAGE WOMEN VETERANS TO LIVE THEIR LIVES TO THE FULLEST AFTER MILITARY SERVICE. THE BREAKFAST TRANSCENDS A TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST GATHERING BECAUSE IT ADDRESSES THE SIGNIFICANT ISSUES AND OBSTACLES WOMEN VETERANS ENCOUNTER AND PROVIDES POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS ON THE SPOT. ATTENDEES ARE EQUIPPED TO OVERCOME BARRIERS WITH RESILIENCE AND GRACE. WOMEN VETERANS WALK AWAY FROM THE EVENT WITH A NEW SENSE OF SELF-WORTH AND ARE EDUCATED AND EMPOWERED TO DO MORE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES. THE PINK AND WHITE BREAKFAST SESSIONS GIVE WOMEN VETERANS SOMETHING THEY LONG FOR AFTER LEAVING THE MILITARY, AND THAT IS A NETWORK OF SISTERHOOD, COMRADE, AND PEER SUPPORT. WOMEN VETERANS ARE REMINDED THAT WE ARE STILL A TEAM AND THAT THEY ARE NOT ALONE. IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY GET
OPERATION SAFETY NET (OSN) IS A UNIQUE PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES EMERGENCY FUNDING TO ADDRESS THE CRITICAL NEEDS OF WOMEN VETERANS WHO ARE HOMELESS AND AT RISK OF BEING HOMELESS. EMERGENCY FUNDS ARE COMBINED WITH THE WVI FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM TO ENSURE THAT WOMEN VETERANS ARE EDUCATED AND EQUIPPED TO EXCEL BEYOND YESTERDAY'S ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS. FUNDING IS USED TO ASSIST WOMEN VETERANS TO REMAIN IN SAFE AND SUITABLE HOUSING BY STOPPING THE EVICTION PROCESS, PAYING FIRST-MONTH RENT AND SECURITY DEPOSITS, AS WELL AS, RENTAL AND UTILITY PAYMENTS, GROCERIES, GAS CARDS, AND IN EXTREME CASES FUNDING CAN BE USED FOR LIFE-SAVING MEDICATIONS.
