Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

COHERE USA INC. WORKS WITH COHERE, A UK NONPROFIT, TO PARTNER WITH REFUGEE-LED ORGANIZATIONS SO THEY CAN TRANSFORM THEIR COMMUNITIES BY OFFERING CRITICAL SERVICES, SKILLS TRAINING, AND OPPORTUNITIES. WE DO THIS THROUGH CAPACITY BUILDING, ADVOCACY, COORDINATION, AND FUNDING.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

CAPACITY BUILDING - REFUGEE-LED ORGANIZATIONS (RLOS) HOLD THE POTENTIAL TO DELIVER INNOVATIVE AND RADICAL SOLUTIONS TO THEIR COMMUNITIES. COHERE HAS DEVELOPED A CAPACITY STRENGTHENING AND SHARING COURSE WITH OUR PARTNERS WITH OVER 18 MODULES WHICH AIMS TO STRENGTHEN THEIR ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY THROUGH SESSIONS IN LEADERSHIP, MANAGEMENT, RESOURCES, FINANCE AND COORDINATION. THE COURSE WAS AWARDED THE UNHCR INNOVATION AWARD FOR PARTNERSHIPS AT THE WORLD REFUGEE FORUM IN GENEVA, SWITZERLAND IN 2019.

ADVOCACY - COHERE ADVOCATES FOR INCREASED DIRECT FUNDING FROM DONORS TO RLOS AND IMPROVING THE MECHANISMS THAT ENABLE THIS. THROUGH OUR WORK WE WANT TO PROVE TO DONORS THAT IF THEY GIVE DIRECTLY THEIR MONEY IS USED MORE EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY, AND ALSO PROVIDES SOLUTIONS THAT ARE MORE SUSTAINABLE. USING RESEARCH AND PROOF FROM OUR WORK WE HOPE TO CHANGE MINDSETS AND PRACTICES FOR HOW MONEY IS DISTRIBUTED DURING HUMANITARIAN CRISES AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE.

REFRAME - COHERE HAS DEVELOPED AN INNOVATIVE ONLINE PLATFORM TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR DONORS TO DONATE DIRECTLY TO REFUGEE-LED ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE WORLD. WHETHER IT IS A LARGE GRANT FROM INSTITUTIONAL DONORS, OR AN INDIVIDUAL DONOR WHO WOULD LIKE TO GIVE $10 PER MONTH TO A REFUGEE-LED ORGANIZATION, WE HAVE BUILT A PLATFORM TO ENABLE THEM TO FIND, CONNECT AND DONATE TO ORGANIZATIONS.

DIRECT FUNDING - IN 2022, COHERE GAVE REFUGEE-LED ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS EAST AFRICA OVER $500,000 OF FUNDING TO SUPPORT THEIR COMMUNITY INITIATIVES AND GROW THEIR ORGANIZATIONS. WHEN REFUGEE-LED ORGANIZATIONS HAVE THE POWER TO DECIDE HOW THEIR MONEY IS USED THEY TEND TO MAKE THE BEST DECISIONS.
