CANCER SERVICES IS A LOCAL ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON IMPROVING LIFE FOR THOSE LIVING WITH CANCER. SERVICES OFFERED INCLUDE SUPPORT GROUPS, EXERCISE CLASSES, FINANCIAL SUPPORT, EDUCATION, CAMPS FOR KIDS WITH CANCER, AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF WIGS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT AND MORE. DURING THE TIME PERIOD JULY 1, 2020 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021, MORE THAN 5,000 LOCAL CHILDREN, ADULTS AND FAMILIES RECEIVED PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM CANCER SERVICES. WHEN A CHILD IS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER, THE ENTIRE FAMILY IS AFFECTED, AND IT CAN BE A HIGHLY-STRESSFUL JOURNEY. DURING JULY 1, 2020 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021, MORE THAN 57 LOCAL CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN 3 THERAPEUTIC AND FUN-FILLED VIRTUAL CAMPS DESIGNED FOR KIDS AFFECTED BY CANCER PERSONALLY OR THROUGH A FAMILY MEMBER. FOR ADULTS DEALING WITH A CANCER DIAGNOSIS, CANCER SERVICES PROVIDES A SAFE SPACE FOR SHARING AND COPING IN VARIOUS WAYS THROUGH SUPPORT GROUPS. DURING JULY 1, 2020 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021, A TOTAL OF 187 CLIENTS ATTENDED SUPPORT GROUPS TO GAIN EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL HEALING. A TOTAL OF 47 CLIENTS ALSO BENEFITED FROM ONE-ON-ONE COUNSELING SESSIONS FOCUSED ON THEIR UNIQUE AND INDIVIDUAL JOURNEY. FOR THOSE IN THE MIDST OF A PHYSICAL TRANSFORMATION THAT CANCER CAN OFTEN BRING, CANCER SERVICES OFFERS A FULLY STOCKED WIG BOUTIQUE, MASTECTOMY BRAS AND PROSTHESIS. ALL ARE FREE OF CHARGE TO PATIENTS. DURING THE TIME PERIOD JULY 1, 2020 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021, OVER 7,000 CASES OF NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENT AND OVER 5,000 ITEMS OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT WERE DISTRIBUTED. OVER 500 CLIENTS WERE ELIGIBLE AND RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSITANCE. THROUGH THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF DONORS, CANCER SERVICES IS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO OFFER THESE SERVICES EACH AND EVERY YEAR.
