THROUGHOUT NEARLY ALL OF 2021, MUCH OF THE WORK OF RAREKC WAS PAUSED AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. HOWEVER, A NEW CEO WAS HIRED IN 2021 AND LED THE ORGANIZATION IN STRATEGIC PLANNING, EVENT PLANNING FOR 2022 AND EVALUATION OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION, INCLUDING BOARD COMPOSITION AND ORGANIZATIONAL BY-LAWS. ALSO IN 2021, RAREKC CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE FOR RARE DISEASE PATIENTS AND AMPLIFY THEIR VOICE IN COMMUNITY EFFORTS, INCLUDING THE ETHICAL AI INITIATIVE, PCORI PATIENT NAVIGATORS AND REGIONAL NAVIGATORS.
