THE MISSION OF THE CASA ITALIANA SOCIOCULTURAL CENTER IS TO PROMOTE, PRESERVE AND CARE FOR PROGRAMS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES OF THE ITALIAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND PRESENT THE BEST OF ITALIAN CULTURE TO THE LARGER SOCIETY THROUGH EDUCATIONAL, HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ITALIAN PROGRAMS.

IN 2021 THE ORGANIZATION ORGANIZED A NUMBER OF CULTURAL PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON ITALIAN AMERICANS, CONTINUED ITS SUPPORT FOR THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND SUPPORTED OTHER ITALIAN CULTURAL PROGRAMS AND EVENTS.
IN 2021 THE MUSEUM BEGAN GIVING PRIVATE TOURS TO STUDENTS FROM LOCAL AREA SCHOOLS SO THAT THEY COULD LEARN AND REFLECT ON THE CONTRIBUTIONS MADE BY ITALIANS IN WASHINGTON DC. THE MUSEUM, WHICH WAS INAUGURATED IN DECEMBER 2020, CONTINUES ITS EXHIBITS ON THE IMMIGRATION OF ITALIANS TO THE WASHINGTON AREA AND THE LEGACY THAT THEY HAVE LEFT IN THE ARTS, CULTURE, BUSINESS, AND OTHER AREAS.
DURING 2021, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED ITS PROJECT TO RECORD THE ORAL HISTORIES OF AMERICANS OF ITALIAN DESCENT WHO HAVE BEEN LONG TERM RESIDENTS IN THE WASHINGTON AREA.
