FUNDED AND ASSISTED THE DEVELOPMENT BY THE STANFORD PROGRAM ON INTERNATIONAL AND CROSS-CULTURAL EDUCATION (SPICE) OF A TEACHERS GUIDE FOR THE WAR BRIDE EXPERIENCE SHORT DOCUMENTARY FILM "FALL SEVEN TIMES, GET UP EIGHT: THE JAPANESE WAR BRIDES." THE GUIDE WAS WRITTEN BY WAKA TAKAHASHI BROWN AND WAS FINALIZED IN EARLY 2022
CONDUCTED BACKGROUND RESEARCH AND DRAFTED A SCRIPT FOR AN EXPANDED, HOUR-LONG DOCUMENTARY FILM ON THE JAPANESE WAR BRIDES. HIRED A FILM EDITOR AND VIDEOGRAPHER, AND MADE PLANS MADE TO CONDUCT THE FINAL INTERVIEWS IN APRIL AND MAY OF 2022.
CONTINUED WORK WITH THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION ON A TRAVELING EXHIBITION ON THE JAPANESE WAR BRIDES. THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION TRAVELING EXHIBITION SERVICE (SITES) HAS IDENTIFIED STEPS NEEDED TO DEVELOP THE EXHIBITION. WORKING WITH WAR BRIDE EXPERIENCE, SITES HAS IDENTIFIED THE CURATOR AND A TIMELINE FOR PRODUCING A PROSPECTUS IN ORDER TO GAUGE MUSEUM INTEREST.
