ROUND TRIP CARSHARE SERVICEHOURCAR OPERATES A ROUND TRIP SERVICE USING GAS-POWERED, HYBRID, AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES. HOURCAR VEHICLES ARE PLACED AT OFF-STREET HUBS THROUGHOUT SAINT PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS. MEMBERS PICK UP AND RETURN THE CAR TO THE SAME HUB. MEMBERS CAN RESERVE CARS UP TO SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE. HOURCAR PROVIDES A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT VEHICLE TYPES (COMPACT CARS, SEDANS, HATCHBACKS, SUVS) TO MEET MEMBERS' DIFFERENT TRIP NEEDS. IN 2022, HOURCAR OPERATED 49 VEHICLES IN ITS ROUND-TRIP SERVICE. 2,349 UNIQUE USERS TOOK 22,487 TRIPS SPANNING 1,019,559 MILES, REDUCING 1,165 METRIC TONS OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS. 33% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM BIPOC/NON-WHITE USERS, 27% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM VERY LOW-INCOME USERS, AND 10% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM BIPOC/NON-WHITE USERS WHO ARE ALSO VERY LOW-INCOME. USERS SAVED AN ESTIMATED $5.7 MILLION SAVED ON TRANSPORTATION COSTS MULTIFAMILY ELECTRIC VEHICLE CARSHARE PILOT PROJECTPART OF THE HOURCAR SERVICE, THE MULTIFAMILY ELECTRIC VEHICLE PILOT PROJECT IS A ROUND-TRIP CARSHARE SERVICE USING ELECTRIC VEHICLES. MULTIFAMILY VEHICLES ARE LOCATED AT LOW-INCOME APARTMENT BUILDINGS AROUND THE REGION. USERS START AND END TRIPS AT THE SAME HUB, AND MEMBERS CAN RESERVE CARS UP TO SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE. IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING THE CARS, WE WORK WITH PROPERTY MANAGERS AND DEVELOPERS, AND OUR PARTNERS AT XCEL ENERGY, TO INSTALL VEHICLE CHARGERS IN PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE APARTMENT PARKING LOTS. WHILE PARTICULARLY CONVENIENT FOR RESIDENTS OF THE HOST SITES, MULTIFAMILY VEHICLES ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL HOURCAR MEMBERS. THE FIRST MULTIFAMILY CARSHARE HUB OPENED IN AUGUST 2022 IN MINNEAPOLIS, AND IN LATE DECEMBER, WE OPENED A SECOND HUB IN LITTLE CANADA. 166 UNIQUE USERS TOOK 532 TRIPS SPANNING 17,900 MILES, REDUCING 92 METRIC TONS OF GREENHOUSE GAS. 48% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM BIPOC/NON-WHITE USERS, 41% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM VERY LOW-INCOME USERS, AND 32% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM BIPOC/NON-WHITE USERS WHO ARE ALSO VERY LOW-INCOME. USERS SAVED AN ESTIMATED $165,000 ON TRANSPORTATION COSTS. EVIE COMMUNITY CARSHAREEVIE COMMUNITY CARSHARE IS A ONE-WAY SERVICE FEATURING 145 ELECTRIC VEHICLES POWERED BY 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY. LAUNCHED IN FEBRUARY 2022, EVIE CARSHARE IS OPERATED BY HOURCAR UNDER CONTRACT TO THE CITIES OF SAINT PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS. EVIE CARSHARE IS PART OF THE EV SPOT NETWORK, WHICH WAS PLANNED AND IMPLEMENTED THROUGH A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP THAT INCLUDES THE CITIES OF SAINT PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, HOURCAR, XCEL ENERGY, EAST METRO STRONG, AND THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION. EVIE CARSHARE PROVIDES FREE-FLOATING, ONE-WAY TRIPS; USERS CAN PICK UP A CAR ON THE STREET ANYWHERE WITHIN A 35-SQ-MILE AREA OF SAINT PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, AND END A TRIP IN ANY 2-HOUR-OR-LONGER ON-STREET PARKING SPACE. 2,637 UNIQUE USERS TOOK 63,145 TRIPS SPANNING 676,141 MILES AND REDUCING 2,092 METRIC TONS OF GREENHOUSE GAS. 38% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM BIPOC/NON-WHITE USERS, 36% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM VERY LOW-INCOME USERS, AND 11% OF TOTAL UTILIZATION CAME FROM BIPOC/NON-WHITE USERS WHO ARE ALSO VERY LOW-INCOME. USERS SAVED AN ESTIMATED $5.8 MILLION ON TRANSPORTATION COSTS.
