PEER-TO-PEER PROGRAMS: THESE PROGRAMS ARE A TIER 1 PREVENTION PROGRAMS THAT COMBINE A STRENGTH BASED PHILOSOPHY WITH POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY TO CREATE AN APPROACH THAT FOCUSES ON PURPOSE, EMPOWERMENT, PERSEVERANCE, HOPE, OPTIMISM, COLLABORATION AND POTENTIAL. EACH PROGRAM ALLOWS FOR PARTICIPANTS TO FLEXIBLY DESIGN THEIR GROUP CURRICULUM BASED ON WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR LIVES. EACH PROGRAM CONSISTS OF 12 WEEKLY MEET UPS OF 90 MIN EACH, LED BY CSU AND UNC GRAD STUDENTS. MIDDLE SCHOOL PARTICIPANTS ARE PAIRED WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
