Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
PUI TAK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL'S MISSION IS TO EQUIP YOUNG LEARNERS ACADEMICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY TO BE FUTURE LEADERS FOR GOD'S KINGDOM. OUR VISION IS TO SEE CHILDREN RISE TO THEIR POTENTIAL AND SUCCEED IN ALL SPHERES OF LIFE WITH JOY AND STRENGTH OF CHARACTER.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
PRE SCHOOL & JR. KINDERGARTEN: PUI TAK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL USES THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM AS THE FRAMEWORK FOR THE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM. THIS IS ONE OF THREE DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE CURRICULUMS RECOMMENDED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATION FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. THE SCHOOL PROVIDES A VARIETY OF ACTIVE AND QUIET LEARNING-PLAY CENTERS WITHIN WHICH A CHILD CAN MAKE CHOICES, CREATE, AND INTERACT WITH PEERS AND THEIR ENVIRONMENT. LEARNING MATERIALS PROVIDE CONCRETE EXPERIENCES AND ARE ADAPTABLE TO CHILDREN'S MANY DIFFERENT PLAY LEVELS. THE TEACHERS ALSO DEVELOP "UNITS OF STUDY" THAT THEMATICALLY COMPLEMENT THE CHILDREN, THEIR CULTURES, AND THE COMMUNITY.ELEMENTARY SCHOOL K-3RD GRADE: PTCS LOWER ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM NOT ONLY ADHERES TO ILLINOIS STANDARD OF COMMON CORE BUT AIMS TO PROVIDE TRAINING WELL ABOVE AND BEYOND STATE STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS. WE UTILIZE A VARIETY OF WELL-ESTABLISHED CURRICULA SUCH AS PEARON'S ENVISIONMATH, SCHOLASTIC'S HISTORY AND SOCIAL STUDIES, AND THE STEMSCOPE SCIENCE ALONG WITH SPECIFICALLY TAILORED LANGUAGE ARTS, MANDARIN CHINESE, FINE ARTS, COMPUTER, AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM. THE GOAL IS TO ACQUAINT STUDENTS WITH A WELL-SELECTED CONTENT OF CONVENTIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND DEVELOP A WHOLESOME ATTITUDE TOWARDS LEARNING. IN ADDITION, THROUGH OUR CURRICULUM, WE AIM TO PREPARE LOWER ELEMENTARY STUDENTS TO EVOLVE FROM AN INDIVIDUAL TO A COOPERATIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY WHILE HELPING THEM ACQUIRE SKILLS NEEDED TO GROW FROM BASIC TO FORMAL LEARNING IN THEIR UPPER ELEMENTARY YEARS AND MORE. MIDDLE SCHOOL 4TH-8TH GRADE: PTCS' MIDDLE CLASSES UTILIZE THE BLENDED LEARNING EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY THAT IS ESPECIALLY SUITABLE FOR MIXED-GRADE CLASSROOMS. BLENDED LEARNING IS A WAY OF TEACHING THAT PROVIDES TEACHERS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY AND TOOLS TO TAILOR THE CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE FOR EACH STUDENT TO BEST FIT THEIR NEEDS. TEACHERS USE TECHNOLOGY TO ASSIST THEIR TEACHING BY HAVING INDIVIDUALIZED LESSONS PRE-DESIGNED INTO EACH STUDENT'S COMPUTER TO ASSESS THEIR LEVEL AND SELECT APPLICATIONS FOR THE STUDENT. WHILE SOME STUDENTS ARE BEING INDIVIDUALLY TAUGHT THROUGH LESSONS AND QUIZZES ON THEIR COMPUTER, TEACHERS CAN GIVE LESSONS TO ANOTHER GROUP, LEAVING NO CHILD BEHIND IN THEIR CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE AND ENSURING EACH STUDENT IS ATTENDED TO. PUI TAK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IS EQUIPPED WITH UP-TO-DATE TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINED TEACHERS TO EQUIP CHILDREN BEST TO THRIVE.
EXTENDED PROGRAMSAFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS: THE PURPOSE OF THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AT PUI TAK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IS TO SERVE THE SCHOOL BY ENGAGING STUDENTS IN INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT OUTSIDE OF THE ACADEMIC DAY. WE SEEK TO INSTILL WITHIN EACH STUDENT THE GOSPEL, IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY, CREATIVITY, AND A JOY IN LEARNING. WE LONG TO SUPPORT EACH CHILD AND BE A PART OF HIS OR HER STORY IN A UNIQUE WAY.CURRENTLY, WE OFFER VARIOUS PROGRAMS THAT TAILOR TO EVERY PARENT AND STUDENT'S NEEDS. KIDS KORNER PROVIDES THE SPACE FOR STUDENT TO INDEPENDENTLY WORK ON HOMEWORK AND SOCIALIZE WITH ONE ANOTHER WHILE OUR TUTORING PROGRAM OFFERS 1:1 SUBJECT-SPECIFIC HELP FOR YOUR CHILD. SEE ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS HERE.?JUMPSTART SUMMER PROGRAM:OUR JSP JUMPSTART SUMMER PROGRAM WELCOMES STUDENTS FROM PREK-8TH GRADE IN JULY AND AUGUST FOR 4 WEEK AND 3 WEEK INCREMENTS, OR THE COMPLETE 7 WEEK PROGRAM.
