APIAHIP IS THE ONLY NATIONAL ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROTECTING HISTORIC PLACES AND CULTURAL RESOURCES SIGNIFICANT TO ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICANS. WE ACHIEVE THIS BY: (1) CREATING AN INFORMATION-SHARING NETWORK THAT CAN PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR ESTABLISHED AND EMERGING HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAMS; (2) ESTABLISHING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES FOR RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS AND IMPACTING HISTORIC PRESERVATION POLICY AND PRACTICE AT LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVELS; (3) INCREASING PUBLIC AND PRIVATE RESOURCES IN THE FIELD OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION THAT ENABLE COMMUNITIES TO PROTECT THEIR HERITAGE THROUGH A PLACE-BASED ETHIC.

"PRESERVATION PATHWAYS:" EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES FOR ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HISTORIC SITES AND CULTURAL RESOURCES THROUGH HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND HERITAGE CONSERVATION ON SOCIAL AND DIGITAL MEDIA PLATFORMS (INCLUDING HISTORYPIN), VIRTUAL WEBINARS, AND IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS, PRESENTATIONS, TOURS, AND CONFERENCES IN OVER 6 COMMUNITIES (CITIES) REACHING OVER 600 INDIVIDUALS REACHED IN UNDER 4 MONTHS.
APIAHIP ALSO SENT OUT MONTHLY INFORMATIVE NEWSLETTER REACHING OVER 750 INDIVIDUALS AND WORKED WITH LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION AGENCIES TO SUBMIT PUBLIC COMMENTS AND LETTERS OF SUPPORT RELATED TO THE DESIGNATION OF HISTORIC SITES.
