OUR SPOT KC IS A HUB FOR RESOURCES THAT SUPPORT, ADVANCE, AND EQUIP LGBTQ+ INDIVIDUALS TO ENSURE SUSTAINABILITY AND IMPROVEMENT IN AND OF THE COMMUNITY. PROGRAMS INCLUDE LION HOUSE AND OUTSKRTS.LION HOUSE IS AN LGBTQ-SPECIFIC TRANSITIONAL AND RAPID REHOUSING PROGRAM THAT SEEKS TO COME FROM A COMMUNITY FIRST AND HOUSING PLUS APPROACH. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING IS A SHORT-TERM HOUSING PROGRAM THAT IS DESIGNED TO BEST SUPPORT SPECIFIC SEGMENTS OF THE HOMELESS POPULATION, INCLUDING WORKING HOMELESS PEOPLE WHO ARE EARNING TOO LITTLE MONEY TO AFFORD LONG-TERM HOUSING. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)OUTSKRTS IS A FESTIVAL AND EVENT SERIES FOR THOSE ON THE OUTSKRTS OF THE QUEER COMMUNITY. OUR SPOT KC IS FIGHTING TO PROVIDE A SPACE FOR THE MARGINALIZED IN OUR COMMUNITY, THOSE ON THE OUTSKRTS, THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INTENTIONAL PROGRAMMING TO ADDRESS HEALTH DISPARITIES FACED BY LBTQ WOMEN AND COMMUNITIES OF COLOR. THE OUTSKRTS PROGRAM PROVIDES A SERIES OF EVENTS INCLUDING FREE TRAINING, EDUCATION, DISCUSSIONS, HEALTH FAIRS, AND HEALTH CENTERED ACTIVITIES. OUTSKRTS ALSO PROVIDES ACCESS TO CULTURALLY COMPETENT HEALTH ADVOCATES WHO ARE TRAINED TO SUPPORT PARTICIPANTS IN NAVIGATING THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
