THIS YEAR, PACIFIC BEACH STREET GUARDIANS (PBSG) WAS ABLE TO EMPLOY 23 NEIGHBORS WHO WERE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. FOURTEEN WENT ON TO OBTAIN PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT AND/OR HOUSING.PBSG TEAM MEMBERS WERE GIVEN MORE THAN 40 HOURS OF EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, CONFLICT RESOLUTION, COMMUNICATION, FIRST AID, HEALTH AND WELLNESS AND STRESS MANAGEMENT.DURING INDIVIDUAL WEEKLY CASE MANAGEMENT SESSIONS, TEAM MEMBERS WERE GIVEN NECESSARY RESOURCES FOR SERVICES AND SUPPORTS TO HELP THEM ON THEIR WAY TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY.THROUGH COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND SERVICE, PBSG ENGAGED A DIVERSE GROUP OF SUPPORTERS INCLUDING, 7 BUSINESSES, 6 CHURCHES, 8 COMMUNITY GROUPS AND MORE THAN 50 INDIVIDUALS WHO DONATED THEIR TIME, TREASURE OR TALENT.
