DESERT ABILITY CENTER CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ADAPTIVE SPORTS CLINICS AND EVENTS IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY FROM OCTOBER TO MAY. DURING THIS TIME WE PROVIDE REGULARLY SCHEDULED CLINICS IN HANDCYCLING FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH SPINAL CORD INJURIES, AMPUTATIONS AND OTHER NEUROLOGICAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES. DAC IS BEGINNING TO SEE THE EMERGENCE OF SOME TRUE ATHLETES IN THESE MONTHLY RIDES WHO ARE NOW RIDING UP TO 25 MILES. IN MARCH 2020, DESERT ABILITY CENTER TEMPORARILY DISCONTINUED OUTDOOR AND GROUP PROGRAMS DUE TO COVID. AS A RESULT DAC LAUNCHED A PROGRAM OF VIRTUAL ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAMS TO INCLUDE STRENGTH TRAINING AS WELL AS CYCLING. THESE HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMS WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH DAC OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING ONCE WE CAN SAFELY RETURN TO THE COMMUNITY LOCAL RECREATION DISTRICT ESTABLISHING AN ADAPTIVE SPORTS PROGRAM AND NONPROFITS SERVING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES EXPANDING THEIR RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS.DAC IS PROUD OF OUR EFFORTS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND SEE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES GROW AND FLOURISH.
