PWC LAUNCHED GRASS STAINS IN 2016 TO COMMISSION EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHERS TO CREATE SITE SPECIFIC, SITE ADAPTIVE, AND PUBLIC ART WORKS, PROVIDING SPACE, FINANCIAL SUPPORT, AND MENTORING TO THE SELECTED ARTISTS. BASED ON PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK, THE PROGRAM EVOLVED TO EMPHASIZE A MORE COHORT DRIVEN MODEL.THIS MODEL HAS PROVED TO BE A SUCCESSFUL INTERVENTION INTO DANCE ECOLOGIES THAT NORMALLY CONSTRAINS THE FLOURISHING OF THE DANCE FIELD. AS OF TODAY, NEARLY 70 LOCAL ARTISTS HAVE BEEN SERVED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. REVENUE RECEIVED IS 0. PROGRAMMING IS FREE. IN 2022, THE GRASS STAINS PROGRAMMING TOOK PLACE IN JANUARY AND HAD EXPENSES OF $ 26,500. THESE ACTIVITIES WERE 100% GRANT FUNDED. ALL PROGRAMMING WAS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
PWC PREMIERED A NEW CHAPTER OF BIRDS OF PARADISE IN MAY 2023 AT THE MIAMI DADE COUNTY AUDITORIUM. TWO SHOWS TOTALING APPROXIMATELY 400 ATTENDEES. THE PROJECT CONTINUED WITH A RESIDENCY AT ATLANTIC CENTER FOR THE ARTS IN JUNE 2022. PWC HAD ITS NYC DEBUT PERFORMING IN TWO SHOWCASES AT THE APAP CONFERENCE. THE NEW WORK TITLED DJ APOLLO WAS FURTHER DEVELOPED IN A RESIDENCY AT THE RINGLING MUSEUM AND A LOCAL RESIDENCY AT THE ADRIENNE ARSHT CENTER IN SEPTEMBER 2022. THE COLLABORATION IS INTERGENERATIONAL AND CENTERS THE BODIES AND LIVED EXPERIENCE OF QUEER IDENTIFYING PERFORMERS AGE 55+. IN ADDITION TO BOP AND DJ APOLLO, PWC ALSO PERFORMED "CLOSER ENCOUNTERS" AT THE ELECTRIC TREE, A LOCATION PROGRAMMED BY THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART NORTH MIAMI. THE MAINSTAGE PERFORMANCES AND REHEARSAL/CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS HAD EXPENSES OF $ 200,000. THESE EXPENSES ARE LARGELY COMPENSATION TO COLLABORATING ARTISTS, SUCH AS DANCERS, MUSICIANS, PRODUCTION DESIGNERS, FILMAKERS, PHOTOGRAPHERS AND COSTUME DESIGNERS. THESE ACTIVITIES WERE 100% GRANT FUNDED. MIAMI DADE COUNTY AUDITORIUM KEPT THE TICKET SALES FOR THE MAY 2022 PERFORMANCES ($3,320). ALL OTHER PROGRAMMING WAS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
PWC LAUNCHED A PIONEER WINTER COLLECTIVE'S RESIDENT ARTIST PROGRAM "CREATIVE CONNECTIONS" LAUNCHED IN 2023 WITH AN INAUGRAL STATE OF 4 ARTISTS RECEIVING A MONTHLY RETAINER, FOR 9 MONTHS, TO HONOR THEIR OVERALL CONTRIBUTION AS CREATIVE COLLABORATORS DURING THAT TIMESPAN. ALL ARTISTS ARE ADDITIONALLY PROVIDED A PRODUCTION STIPEND TO ENACT A PROJECT ALIGNED WITH THE COMPANY'S RESEARCH (IE.,QUEERNESS, ABILITY, COMMUNITY).
