COMPOSITIONS FOR LIFE:COMPOSITIONS FOR LIFE IS A ONE ON ONE MENTORING PROGRAM FOR JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS OF AGES 11-14. STUDENTS HAVE SESSIONS WITH MUSIC THERAPY STUDENTS AND PRACTITIONERS TO COMPOSE ORIGINAL SONGS. SESSIONS INCLUDE THE USE OF THERAPEUTIC SONGWRITING TECHNIQUES THAT FOCUS ON STUDENTS' MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING.STUDENTS OF THE PROGRAM WERE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECORD THEIR ORIGINAL SONGS IN PROFESSIONAL RECORDING STUDIOS. COMPOSITIONS FOR LIFE PROGRAM HAS SERVED 46 STUDENTS IN FOUR LOCAL SCHOOLS. THE STUDENTS HAVE COMPOSED 27 SONGS.
AP FOR LIFE:AP FOR LIFE IS AN ARTS RESIDENCY PROGRAM THAT EMPOWERS A COHORT OF CREATIVES WITH THE FINANCIAL, ENTREPRENEURIAL, ARTISTIC, AND SOCIAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND PLATFORMS NECESSARY TO ENRICH CULTURE, COMMUNITIES, AND THEIR PERSONAL PURPOSE.PARTICIPANTS WERE GRANTED A $1,000 STIPEND FOR CREATIVE EMPOWERMENT AND $250 FOR AN INVESTMENT STIPEND TO COMBAT LACK OF ACCESS WHILE GENERATING WEALTH. LIKEWISE, PARTICIPANTS WERE TASKED WITH MEETING WITH A FINANCIAL ADVISOR, GENERATING A CREATIVE PROJECT, MENTORING AND HELPING LIFE ARTS PROGRAMMING, AND SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY.
