PLAY/SENSORY CONCERTS: "PLAYFUL MUSIC" IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE STRONG PLAY MUSEUM (ROCHESTER, NEW YORK), SHARES MUSIC WRITTEN FOR TOYS INDUCTED INTO THEIR NATIONAL TOY HALL OF FAME, EXPLORING THE POWER OF PLAY AND MUSIC. THESE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED FOR THOSE WITH SENSORY, SOCIAL AND LEARNING DISABILITIES, PARTNERING WITH AUTISM SERVICE AGENCIES AND THE LIBRARY SYSTEM WITHIN ROCHESTER TO PROVIDE FREE, SENSORY-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY PERFORMANCES FOR ALL.FRINGE 2021: AT "PERSEVERING" AT THE ROCHESTER FRINGE FESTIVAL AT THE EASTMAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC, FIVEBYFIVE PARTNERS WITH TROY, NY ARTIST DANIELLE COLIN WHO WILL CREATE AN ORIGINAL FOUND POEM AND VISUAL ARTWORK FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCES SHARED BY THE AUDIENCE WHILE FIVEBYFIVE PERFORMS THE PREMIERE OF A NEW WORK BY COMPOSER JOE JAXSON. OTHER MUSIC INCLUDED WORKS FROM THE QUINTET'S DEBUT ALBUM, "OF AND BETWEEN."COMPOSER CHATS: TAMBORENO: FIVEBYFIVE'S FREE FIVE-PART VIRTUAL SERIES "COMPOSER CHATS" (FEBRUARY - JUNE 2021) EVOLVED FROM INTERNAL DISCUSSIONS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION FOLLOWING THE RACIAL PROTESTS FROM 2020. THIS SERIES BROUGHT SOCIAL, RACIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE TO THE FOREGROUND BY INCLUDING PROGRAMS THAT FEATURED NEW WORKS AND ARRANGEMENTS BY BLACK, LATINX, ASIAN AND WOMEN COMPOSERS. THE SCOPE OF THE CONVERSATIONS PROVIDED AN OPPORTUNITY FOR UNDERREPRESENTED COMPOSERS TO PRESENT AND DRAW ATTENTION TO THEIR ARTISTIC WORK. TAMBORENO WAS THE 4TH INSTALLMENT OF "COMPOSER CHATS AND FEATURED A WORLD PREMIERE VIDEO AND RECORDING OF TAMBORENO. THE VIDEO WAS INSPIRED BY URUGUAY CARNIVALS AND FEATURED 3-D RENDERINGS OF LOCAL ROCHESTER BUILDINGS AS WELL AS APPEARANCES BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
