TO ALLEVIATE THE SICKNESS OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV OR THE RELATED CONDITION KNOWN AS AIDS AND THE EMOTIONAL SUFFERING OF SUCH PEOPLE AND THEIR PARTNERS, RELATIVES, AND/OR DEPENDENTS AND TO PREVENT THE ONWARD TRANSMISSION OF HIV/AIDS; TO RELIEVE THOSE IN FINANCIAL OR OTHER NEED BY REASON OF THE SAID DISEASES; AND TO PROVIDE RESOURCES RELATED TO HIV/AIDS EDUCATION AND TESTING.

ESTABLISHED IN 2016, THE INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS OF ELTON JOHN AIDS FOUNDATION UK (THE ORGANIZATION") IS A DELAWARE NONPROFIT CORPORATION DEDICATED TO ALLEVIATING THE SICKNESS OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV OR THE RELATED CONDITION KNOWN AS AIDS AND THE EMOTIONAL SUFFERING OF SUCH PEOPLE AND THEIR PARTNERS, RELATIVES, AND/OR DEPENDENTS. IN SHORT, THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO SUPPORT AN AIDS-FREE FUTURE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. AIDS IS THE MOST DEVASTATING MODERN DAY DISEASE. BY THE END OF THE 20TH CENTURY, 50 YEARS' WORTH OF PUBLIC HEALTH GAINS WERE ANNIHILATED BY AIDS, WHICH CONTINUES TO DESTROY LIVES. THE ORGANIZATION'S VISION, ALONG WITH THOUSANDS AROUND THE WORLD, IS TO CREATE AN AIDS FREE FUTURE THROUGH SCIENCE, SUPPORT AND MOST OF ALL COMPASSION. STIGMA IS STILL HIV'S MOST DEADLY SYMPTOM. WHILE CHEAP, EASY WAYS TO TEST FOR HIV EXIST, ALONG WITH EVER MORE EFFECTIVE DRUGS TO TREAT THE HIV VIRUS, THEY CANNOT BE USED IF PEOPLE LIVING WITH OR VERY VULNERABLE TO HIV ARE SHUNNED, HIDDEN, OR DENIED THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS. THE ORGANIZATION INTENDS TO FUND VARIOUS PROJECTS - INCLUDING THOSE THAT MAKE HIV TESTING EASY, AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE, AND ABOVE ALL, ARE OFFERED TO EVERY ONE WITHOUT JUDGMENT OR DISCRIMINATION. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT HIV TESTING IS A ROUTINE PART OF PUBLIC HEALTH.HIV MEDICINES ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR AS LITTLE AS $100 A YEAR. ENLIGHTENED DONORS, NONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS AND GOVERNMENTS HAVE MADE THEM AVAILABLE TO OVER 16 MILLION PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV. THESE MEDICINES NOT ONLY SAVE LIVES, THEY MAKE PEOPLE LIVING WITH THE VIRUS UP TO 96% LESS INFECTIOUS. THE ORGANIZATION FUNDS PROGRAMS THAT EXPAND AFFORDABLE, QUALITY MEDICAL TREATMENT TO REACH THOSE WHO URGENTLY NEED HELP AND ARE STILL WAITING.
