THE SOUTHWEST GA COMMUNITY POLICING RESOURCE CENTER OPERATES THE FOLLOWING PREVENTION FOCUSED COMMUNITY POLICING PROGRAMS: BACKPACK WITH A COP, CHRISTMAS WITH A COP, RETAIL RESOURCE ROOM, ANDTHE CHIEFS DIPLOMA PROGRAM. GRANT FUNDING PROVIDED BY INTERNATIONAL PAPER FOUNDATION AND ATLANTA FOR THE KID IN ALL OF US. CHRISTMAS TOYS, BACKPACKS, AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES DONATED FROM AMAZON, WALMART CORDELE, ATLANTA FOR THE KID IN ALL OF US, AND TOYS FOR TOTS.
TIERS FREE ACADEMY HOMESCHOOL SUPPORT PROGRAM FUNCTIONS AS AN ACADEMIC SAFE SPACE FOR K-12 STUDENTS AND AN ALTERNATIVE DIPLOMA PROGRAM FOR HOMELESS LGBTQ YOUTH, SEX TRAFFICKING SURVIVORS, AND HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUTS. IN 2021, TIERS FREE ACADEMY PROGRAMS AWARDED 76 HOMESCHOOL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS TO GRADUATES WHO COMPLETED ONLINE CLASSES AND MET GRADUATION CRITERIA. DURING 2021, PROGRAM NEED INCREASED 113%. WE BEGAN ACCEPTING REFERRALS FROM COUNSELORS WITH STUDENTS IN CRISIS FROM PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS AND PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO THE WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE RSAT PROGRAM. GRANT FUNDING PROVIDED BY THE STONEWALL BAR ASSOCIATION, TEGAN AND SARA FOUNDATION, GENERAL MILLS FOUNDATION, WALMART COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, PAYPAL GIVING FOUNDATION, AND THE STATE FARM COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.
MACON COUNTY FAMILY FAST FORWORD READING PROGRAM THE DOLLAR GENERAL LITERACY FOUNDATIONPROVIDED THE DR. ANNISE MABRY FOUNDATION A $10,000 GRANT TO PURCHASE 10 REUSABLE FASTFORWORD READING PROGRAM LICENSES, 10 REUSABLE READING ASSISTANT PROGRAM SOFTWARE LICENSES, AND 10 READING PLUS SOFTWARE LICENSES TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE BASED READING ENRICHMENT SUPPORT FOR 100 STUDENTS WHO HAD BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A STRUGGLING READER AND WAS READING BELOW GRADE LEVEL. PRIORITY ENROLLMENT IN THIS PROGRAM WAS GIVEN TO CHILDREN WITH PARENTS IN THE CHIEFS DIPLOMA PROGRAM AND THE ONLINE FORMAT OF THE PROGRAM ALLOWED PARENTS AND CHILDREN TO WORK TOGETHER AS A FAMILY READING TIME MODEL.
