KIDS CHOOSE FREE RECONDITIONED BOOKS FROM RED BOOKSHELVES FOR OWNERSHIP & IMPROVED LITERACY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO RUNS NUMEROUS LITERACY PROGRAMS AND MANY OUTREACH EVENTS TO REACH LOCAL YOUTH.

OVER 10,000 CHILDREN CHOSE MORE THAN 54,900 FREE HIGH-QUALITY RECONDITIONED BOOKS FROM OUR RED BOOKSHELVES OR AT ONE OF MANY COMMUNITY EVENTS AND SCHOOL PROGRAMS. THE CHILDREN KEEP THE BOOKS TO BUILD HOME LIBRARIES & INCREASE LITERACY. IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE FREE BOOKS, WE RECEIVED 7,658 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE TO 1,163 VOLUNTEERS WHO MEND BOOKS FOR CHILDREN.
THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTED MANY READING AND LITERACY PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN, AS WELL AS AUTHOR AND CAREER WORKSHOPS TO EDUCATE CHILDREN ABOUT THEIR FUTURE JOB POSSIBILITES. THESE WERE HELD AT SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY CENTERS.THERE WERE ALSO PURCHASES OF ROUGHLY 7,700 NEW, DIVERSE BOOKS WHICH WERE UTILIZED FOR OUR LITERACY PROGRAMMING EVENTS AND TO CREATE A MORE COMPELLING SELECTION OF BOOKS ON OUR FREE RED BOOKSHELVES.
