SPORTS ENRICHMENT FOR DISADVANTAGED YOUTH: BROTHERBIRD HELD ITS ANNUAL TEMPLE GRANDIN SKI DAY, IT ALSO CONTINUED ITS DREAM BUILDERS PROGRAM IN WHICH ATHLETES TEACH YOUNG PEOPLE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF NUTRITION, MENTAL HEALTH AND THE HARD WORK NEEDED TO REALIZE THEIR DREAMS.


ADOPTAPOLOOZA: A WEEKEND LONG EVENT HELD IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VARIOUS ANIMAL CARE ORGANIZATIONS INTENDED TO PROMOTE ADOPTION AND CARE OF CATS AND DOGS. YOUTH ARE TAUGHT RESPONSIBILITY THROUGH LEARNING HOW TO PROPERLY FEED, EXERCISE AND CARE FOR THEIR PETS IN A RESPONSIBLE MANNER.


ART EXPERIENCE: BROTHERBIRD AGAIN HELD ITS TWICE ANNUAL ART EXPERIENCE DAYS. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES HIGH RISK STUDENTS WITH DISCIPLINE AND ACADEMIC DIFFICULTIES TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF THEM HAVING A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WHILE ACTUALLY CREATING SOMETHING OF THEIR OWN.


PROGRAM PLANNING: CONTINUED TO GROW OUR NETWORK AMONG SIMILARLY FOCUSED ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND WORKING ON CREATING NEW SKILLS ENHANCING PROGRAMS FOR AT RISK YOUTH THAT WILL HELP PROVIDE THEM WITH BASIC LIFE, ACADEMIC AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS AND INSTILL IN AND OFFER THEM A SENSE OF HOPE TO HELP THEM OVERCOME THEIR DAILY CHALLENGES.
