BLUE HILL ELECTRIC VEHICLE EV) PROGRAM: ACTT LAUNCHED AND MANAGED AN ON- GOING PROGRAM TO FUND INSTALLATION OF PUBLIC EV CHARGERS IN THE BLUE HILL AND HANCOCK COUNTY (MAINE) AREA. THIS WAS AT THE REQUEST OF A PRIVATE DONOR WHO, RECOGNIZING ACTT'S EXPERIENCE FACILITATING EV CHARGER INSTALLATIONS, PROVIDED THE NEEDED FUNDING. BY THE END OF THE 2021, 13 NEW CHARGING PLUGS HAD BEEN INSTALLED AND BROUGHT ONLINE ON THE BLUE HILL PENINSULA, WITH 14 MORE IN VARIOUS STAGES OF IMPLEMENTATION. DESPITE COVID RESTRICTIONS THAT HAMPERED ACTT'S ABILITY TO STAGE PUBLIC EVENTS, PLANS CONTINUE FOR EDUCATIONAL EVENTS INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE RIDE-AND-DRIVE EVENT. PROJECTIONS ARE FOR THE BLUE HILL EV PROGRAM TO RESULT IN A TOTAL OF OVER 30 NEW EV PLUGS AT 15 SITES BY THE MIDDLE OF 2022 AS WELL AS INCREASED INTEREST IN DIRECT CURRENT FAST CHARGING STATIONS IN HANCOCK COUNTY.
