DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2022, MISSOULA COMMUNITY SCHOOL (MCS) PROVIDED A HIGH-QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM FOR 58 CHILDREN AGES TWO THROUGH SIX. SUMMER PROGRAMS WERE OFFERED AS WELL SERVING CHILDREN AGES TWO THROUGH EIGHT. MCS IS LICENSED THROUGH THE STATE OF MONTANA AS A CHILD CARE CENTER (PROVIDER # PV82658). WE ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL CHILD CARE REGULATIONS, INCLUDING CONTINUAL PROFESSIONAL TRAINING HOURS. THIS YEAR WE HAVE CONTINUED IN THE STARS TO QUALITY PROGRAM, RENEWING AT A LEVEL 2. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR THE SCHOOL EMPLOYED A FULL-TIME DIRECTOR, EIGHT FULL-TIME TEACHERS, TWO PART-TIME ASSISTANTS, A PART-TIME OFFICE ASSISTANT, AND REGULAR EXTENDED CARE PROVIDERS AND SUBSTITUTES. ONE TEACHER SPENT ONE DAY A WEEK AS THE SCHOOL'S MINDFULNESS COORDINATOR, DEVELOPING LESSONS FOR EACH CLASS TO PARTICIPATE IN AND PROVIDING COMMUNITY OUTREACH. MCS IS A PROGRESSIVE SCHOOL FOLLOWING BEST PRACTICES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING ON 6/30/2022, WE WERE ABLE TO WORK WITH VARIOUS APPROVED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALISTS, AND THE SCHOOL WAS ABLE TO OFFER TRAINING HOURS FOR SPECIFIC STAFF MEETINGS AND TRAINING DAYS. THE SCHOOL CONTINUES TO UTILIZE VOLUNTEERS, MOSTLY PARENTS, IN-PERSON FOR VARIOUS EVENTS. VOLUNTEER HOURS CONTINUE TO BE HIGH THROUGH COMMITTEE WORK AND STAFF SUPPORT. WE ARE EXCITED TO HAVE MORE PARENT VOLUNTEERS IN THE CLASSROOM. THE SCHOOL CONTINUES TO BE A PLACE THAT FAMILIES FROM ALL ECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS CAN ATTEND. A SCHOLARSHIP FUND IS PRESENT IN OUR BUDGET. FAMILIES APPLY THROUGH A NATIONAL ORGANIZATION, SSS BY NAIS. WE ALSO ACCEPT BEST BEGINNINGS THROUGH THE STATE OF MONTANA.
